    Portable AC

I’m a bit skeptical of this particular unit. Doesn’t list BTU in the FAQ, but someone in the comments section said (or perhaps guessed) it’s 1100 BTU. That’s not going to cool much and yes you will have to vent the hot air somewhere outside or you won’t get any cooling. You will also have to...

    Marker beacon database/map/finder?

Mostly true. Inner Markers are a required component for Cat II approaches whether or not the crew uses them.

    Marker beacon database/map/finder?

Funny you say that when you just made an assumption which isn't correct. No that's not what I'm saying. I could explain it to you, but then you might accuse me of being captain obvious again, so I'll let you figure it out on your own. I've already given you enough information to do so. Good...

    Eliminating the GoPro prop

That’s more or less what I do. This video was taken with a ND16 filter at 2.7K x 60fps with the shutter speed set to 120.

    Marker beacon database/map/finder?

Yes, really. If you don't know "when marker beacons are required" (and obviously you don't), then anything less than a conditional answer does not adequately answer your question.

GI-275 HSI- no glide slope indicator on RNAV?

Not sure which installation you have. If you have an ADI for your AI you can display it there which might be worth a try. I suspect if it's not displaying on the HSI, it won't be on the ADI either. Enabling/disabling deviation display on the 'ADI' Page: 1) From the 'ADI' Page, open the menu...

    Marker beacon database/map/finder?

It was a reasonable answer to anyone who is reasonable. Not only that it was a well informed reasonable answer.

    Marker beacon database/map/finder?

I suspect there's more NDBs without OMs. There's all sorts of NDBs out there which are not FAA maintained and belong to local municipalities. However, since so many RNAV approaches to smaller airports, I'm sure there's quite a few now decommissioned, so it's hard to say.

    Marker beacon database/map/finder?

The obvious answer provided to your question is yes. You should learn to read between the lines. There's volumes of information you're missing out on.

    Why We Brief

One thing I like to include in a takeoff brief are the threats to the departure. Certainly losing an engine and other in-flight emergencies are always included, but there is always something be it related to traffic, weather, terrain, obstacles, unfamiliar area, unfamiliar departure procedures...

    Marker beacon database/map/finder?

Look for NDB approaches. Quite often an Outer Marker is co-located with the NDB.

    Marker beacon database/map/finder?

Marker beacons are used to identify specific points on an approach. If you have another way to identify them such as DME, certified GPS, crossing radial, etc., then you don’t need a beacon receiver.

3658 NM Western Cross Country Help

Not far from meteor crater is the San Francisco Mountain volcano field. In that area you will find dozens of cinder cone volcanos and lava flows that are amazing to see from the air. Lake Powell is more interesting to see from the air than the Grand Canyon and it stretches on for more than 100...

    Missed approach fix then what?

The OP provided one with no hold. If there’s one there’s bound to be others. I no longer have a Jepp subscription that covers Europe, but I have ran into a few over there. They generally give you a turn and then say proceed as directed by ATC.

    182 Avionics upgrade

For me it didn't take anytime at all, but I have a fair amount of experience flying behind various EFIS systems. Personally I like having a lot of information in a small area as your scan doesn't have to go very far and I find it easier to manage when getting bounced around. There's even an...

    Missed approach fix then what?

Most approaches in the US have published missed approach procedures. However, when you go to Europe, many do not. Regardless of whether there's a missed approach procedure or not, you'd best have a plan lest you find yourself out of altitude, airspeed and ideas all at the same time. As far as...

    ILS question

They are two different systems and not always set to the same glidepath angles. Even when they are tolerances in both systems can make them not coincide with each other. However, both are flight check certified to guarantee obstacle clearance one dot (or light) below path. In the case of VGSI...

    Shopping for 2nd plane...(C182)

1969 182M model. Had one fuel bladder replaced in the past 20 years and it wasn't outrageously expensive. I have some time in most of the models from M to T. If I were to buy today ideally it would be a 2001 or so T model Nav II. I don't really like the NAV III (G1000) 182s or at least I...
