What attributes do you think new MOSAIC compliant LSA aircraft should have to return General Aviation to 10,000 aircraft sales per year?

I'm really not sure ever getting back to 10000 per year is attainable. The airplane you are describing is one that I would buy if it existed for under $300k.

1975 C172m not climb, distance, fuel chart what to use?

Most examiners are familiar with the lack of data in the poh of older aircraft. They simply want to make sure you know how to do the calculations, and that in a case like this where you have no data that you would leave a healthy margin. When I did my checkride I used data from a comparable...

YouTuber Dan Gryder Ordered to Pay Defendant $1-Million+

So let me get this right; the gofundme will be used to: - defend Dan Gryder in court - investigate Dan Milican - investigate AOPA - create and operate a website that will allow people to complain about FAA employees. That's asking an awful lot of $10k.

Cessna 180 near Capital city Harrisburg

Capital City Tower, Live ATC, is telling other pilot that they are reporting an engine failure. I have not found the audio yet of the actual distress call. Looks like they very nearly made it to Capital City, this intersection is about 1 mi from 08. https://flightaware.com/live/flight/N3178D...

    Caution Wake Turbulence

Last evening I got a caution wake turbulence callout from ATC for a 747 that departed after me but was on a converging path. Obviously when the alert was issued ATC had no way of knowing exactly how much vertical separation there would be once our paths converged. Realistically there was...

Unless you live in New York, in which case the government is mandating them for heating.

Anybody know anything about mini-splits? [NA]

I have installed 2 mini-split units one in my house, and a second in my shop. I have been happy with both units. Both are Senville brand from eBay, very likely not as good as the above mentioned brands, but they were easy enough to install, and have performed well for several seasons.

Took off on one mag accidentally - did I hurt my engine?

On an o-360? I think that would be unlikely.

Took off on one mag accidentally - did I hurt my engine?

High egt's do not normally damage an engine. It is more of an indicator that something else is wrong, such as some of the spark plugs being fouled, etc.

Took off on one mag accidentally - did I hurt my engine?

No, not a good idea to do this, but it probably didn't hurt the engine

What is cheaper, a new airplane or an old one?

I have a rich uncle, but there is 0 chance he has any interest in gifting me anything. :(:(

What is cheaper, a new airplane or an old one?

Perhaps asking the question in a different way may result in more helpful responses. I am a member of a flying club that has several 1970's era planes. Several of our members are convinced that the reason for our high maintenance costs is the age of the planes. While I would love for this to be...

What is cheaper, a new airplane or an old one?

Maybe, but if that was true, why are flight schools not all operating brand new 172's?

What is cheaper, a new airplane or an old one?

I suppose I was thinking newer airplane rather than brand new.

What is cheaper, a new airplane or an old one?

I'm referring to operating cost. Everyone seems to know that a newer airplane is cheaper to operate than an old one. But is this actually the case? Presume we are talking about a 4 place trainer, i.e. C172 or Cherokee 180 or similar. Lets presume that we are talking about keeping the airplane...

N/A: IMAP backup tool recommendation please

If you setup thunderbird as an IMAP account then the emails will actually be stored on your email server. If you delete something from the server, it will also disappear from thunderbird. If on the other hand you setup as pop3 then a separate copy will be stored on thunderbird.
