    All birds are “high wing”

Birds just need more evolution, then they will become low wings. Low wings are just more advanced than current evolution.

Presbyopes....what is your "reader" glasses solution?

Presbyope! Thems fightin' words! It took a LONG while for me to get adapted to readers while flying. For some idiotic reason, I kept trying to look UNDER the readers to look outside. What finally got me adjusted is to do what you said, and slide them waaaaay down my nose (literally to the...

    Aviation life vest?

Not a bad idea, and one I've never thought of for flying. I take a once-a-year camping trip on my jet ski, a Yamaha SUV1200, out to high island (an uninhabited island near north fox and beaver island), and I wear a full body wet suit for that. I get so warm, I have to stop occasionally and...

Is BasicMed in jeopardy of being useless for older pilots?

I have a class iii, and this year my insurance went down, even though I upped my hull coverage to $75k from $60k. If this is the result of the basic med discrimination, I'm all for it! (I joke, as I think the price difference was from my broker shopping underwriters)

I'm so proud of my wife...

I don’t have any problem with telemarketers. My problem is the people that buy from telemarketing. They are the reason we all get the calls.

Ever feel unwelcome at an airport?

USW, Boggs Field in Spencer, WV. Very similar experience: Private airport open to the public, not really used as an airport anymore. Waited out a squall line there and couldn't get out of there fast enough. I think I heard dueling banjos in the distance; very "Deliverance" feel, with people...

    live in hangar?

Mine is a decked-out man cave. I use it from late spring to early fall as a hang out, and even sometimes (maybe 3 or 4 times) stay the night. My area is too cold for it to be a winter hang out though.

    Thinking about a life change

The more you own, the more it owns you. Props to you, Tim. I'm not sure I could do it, but I envy those who can.

    Ski resorts near airports?

For us flatlanders, I like this little hill. Not too far away, decent skiing (for Michigan, anyway) and super convenient. My S.O. likes it for the pool, I hit the slopes, then we have fun together on the tube run.

    ADF GOAT?

I'm assuming goat means Greatest Of All Time? Not this:

    LLc or Incorporated ?

You forgot anonymity. Or should I say, "attempt at anonymity." An LLC or Corp, for plane ownership, forces anyone trying to run your N number to take the extra step of looking up your entity for the agent(s). Its actually easy to do, so it isn't much, but its something.

    LLc or Incorporated ?

Speaking from a business owner perspective, (I've never done the plane ownership as a corporation or LLC), the LLC is much less paperwork. Both help shield assets.

    C150M useful load?

If you have 120 lbs back there, you have 358 lbs left for passengers, fuel and oil. I used to own a c150g, and I had to deal with that type of w&b issue regularly. Some options: 1. As @Huckster79 said, put the plane on a diet. 2. Put yourself on a diet. I improved my w&b issue the most...

    UAVIONIX SKYBEACON TAILBEACON Freqecy Drift

Form your point of view, how do you know your fool keyboard is working? Form my point of view, its not. As far as the Skybeacon, I can see it lit up, just like your fool transponder. I can also look on Foreflight, under the category of "own ship" and not only see it working, I can see how...

    UAVIONIX SKYBEACON TAILBEACON Freqecy Drift

My home field is near a C and the Chicago mode C veil, so to not have it would have meant detours in many flight directions. The skybeacon for me was a no brainer: $1500 total (after rebate), quick install, and it works fine with my old transponder. I figure if the transponder goes out, I can...
