    Babble

I think it has more to do with the fact that many times, in canada, you are talking to hear yourself talk.

    Babble

If you really want to hear babble, fly near (or in) Canada. Holy cow those guys love to talk! "Leamington traffic, ahhhh, Cessna Foxtrot Quebec, ahhhh, is on the left downwind for runway one niner, ahhhh, mid-field, ahhhh, at one thousand six hundred feet, ahhhh, flying at one hundred knots...

    Run-up at 1700 vs. 2000rpm

I ran up my Warrior at 2000 rpm on a snowy runway today, and the brakes held just fine. I like 2000 especially for winter, as it gives the engine a little more heat before applying full power for takeoff.

Ran a tank out of gas

Dang, wish I had thought of this. I would of liked to see if it would run awhile like that. I guess its an experiment for another time.

    (Incorrect) observation of aircraft height

Today I went flying. When I returned home from the airport I was getting close to home and I was just pulling onto my street (but still a mile or two away from home), I saw a Piper low-wing dive down towards my home/area ahead. I say "home/area" as opposed to "home" because I live out in the...

Ran a tank out of gas

Now that I’ve tried it, I could see it could have some usefulness. I’m now pretty sure I could switch tanks without my passengers even knowing a tank was run dry.

Ran a tank out of gas

If it was at the bottom, it’d get sucked up first, or nearly first. Now if it was floating on top, then it could get to the motor when running dry.

Ran a tank out of gas

So the thread on "Engine out practice" got me thinking about how I've always wanted to run a tank dry (obviously with gas in another tank), so I tried it this morning. I know some people, in an attempt to maximize range, do this regularly. My warrior holds more gas for much more flight time...

The testing center has accused me of cheating on my IR written.

Only half the story. The class clown doesn't tell jokes to himself, he tells it to an audience. The bigger the audience, the better. And speaking of "Bah humbug" I'm seeing that in the, "I tell a joke (never mind that it could damage a business reputation) and the guy has the audacity to...

The testing center has accused me of cheating on my IR written.

Considering that he tagged them in the post, and their livelihood depends on people not cheating, I'd say the school as well, and I hardly blame them. Save everyone some trouble next time, and just tag the local FSDO. Geez.

Ever had anything stolen out of your airplane?

Don't do it! I left mine in my unlocked plane overnight. When I came back that next day to see if someone stole it, I found someone had in fact got into my plane. Only thing is, they didn't take the iPad 1, but left me 3 more! Ugh!

The testing center has accused me of cheating on my IR written.

Mmmm, I don't think it's so clear a vendetta. Sorry but play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

I wish they had regional threads on this forum

I get it, and I'm very limited on what I do on Facebook (For example, I tried not friending anyone, but it kept cancelling my account. Now, I'm friends with 2 people, and it seems to be letting me keep the account, use marketplace, belong to local flying groups, etc). BTW, I'm not too worried...

Ever had anything stolen out of your airplane?

On a second date, I took a girl flying. She stole my heart! (It IS Valentine's Day today, after all)

    Flying Friends???

? Not the issue. The kid said he would honor their wishes. He is obeying their rules. He wishes to change the rule. I'd say its about patience, not trust.

    Flying Friends???

As a parent of a 21 and 19 year old (as well as a person who got their license at a young age), I’m in agreement with your parents. Instead, take some videos, then show your friends. Tell your friends you’ll fly over their house at a certain time, then do it. Post photos of yourself in the...
