    MU-2 Missing near Bahama's

According to today's news the search has been suspended. Considering the area it went down, doubt if NTSB will ever get their hands on it. So that leaves theories. Fuel starvation probably not an issue. No emergency broadcast of problems to ATC. Possible hypoxia but would think plane would...

    MU-2 Missing near Bahama's

It's bad enough when adults lose their lives in this way but when two small children are also taken that lost is felt for generations. Sometimes it brings to an end a family line. Condolences to all.:(

    United at it again

Woman shipped her very expensive rabbit from London to Chicago but the rabbit was found dead in a holding area after landing. Seems this rabbit was the son of the world's largest, around 4 1/2 ft long, and it was thought he would surpass his sire. News also added that United has the highest...

Have the written tests become obsolete?

But Bob, what about those students that use rote memorization? They get a copy of the test, with answers furnished, and after reading the first 4 words of the question, they know the answer. That's what I was questioning with the validity of the written. Hard to fool the DPE when they ask...

What was your Sun n' Fun 2017 highlight?

Brought my root beer mug from last year and got free refills this year.:D Always love watching the Harrier. Got to like a plane with reverse.:) Angels were great -- actually better than the Thunderbirds last month at Tico show. Really like getting hands on items I'm interested in buying...

    United Airlines customer service

Watched a story on local news this afternoon about a woman traveling with 2 kids on Delta. Her flight had been cancelled, next flight had problems, too and in the long run she ended up with $11,000 in vouchers! Yep, there's always another way to handle the situation. Go Delta.

    I'ts already starting

Don't know why but it seems that during Sun n' Fun week there is a plane crash in FL. Severe storms in Marion County (Ocala) area this morning and an experimental crashed killing the pilot. No word on whether he was Lakeland bound but really wonder what he was doing in that area with that...

    AA Pilot Death

I not riled up. But if he was a friend/acquaintance of yours, would you like reading some of these comments? This is an aviation forum on the Internet. Wouldn't bet against a friend or possibly family member reading this thread. Just think some of the comments are in poor taste. Family and...

Have the written tests become obsolete?

Have to disagree with you, midwestpa24. His CFI is wasting the DPE's time for signing him off for the ride if he is not fully prepared!

Have the written tests become obsolete?

Since the FAA has decided DPE''s need to hit on everything in the ACS, like looooooong orals covering much of the info in the written, do you think testing an applicant face-to-face during the checkride is much more effective than taking a written test where many of the questions are out there...
