The Man Who Fell to the Earth

Have you flown a C-162? The carb temp doesn't get low enough to be a concern unless you reduce throttle. Since you're reducing throttle, a little performance loss isn't a factor. If you pull carb heat based on some RH figure you're guesstimating, that's great. I'll keep pulling carb heat based...

Right. But, there is no humidity sensor. The only thing we have to work with it temp and it is more than enough. If you don't let the carb freeze, RH doesn't matter. Considering people pull carb heat based on RPM, I don't see a problem with pulling it based on temp.

    Private airports, cessnas and iPads

I feel ya man. My iPad identifies as a Surface. It's always connected via remote desktop to a Windows server desktop.

+1. Not to mention, the G300 has a carb temp sensor, and a readout, why can't it have an annunciator for low temp?

Half a bowl of left over popcorn. It's perfectly aged at 48 hours.

Glad you made it out! I would feel the same way. Does your C-162 have a carb temp indicator? The one I flew did, I don't remember using carb heat much in that airplane. It seems to always be on the warm side.

    VR is weird

I'm good for 2-5 hours a week of VR. There's a such thing as too much, even with a lightweight cordless headset. The unfortunate thing is flight sims just don't have the physics for VFR flying. Job Simulator is a lot of fun. I am a burrito expert now...

    GPS Loss Theory

He mentioned it happened in the same place at different times so one could assume it is a stationary source. This article is pretty informative. It even mentions an airport plagued by a truck with a jammer driving by. https://www.gpsworld.com/gnss-systeminnovation-know-your-enemy-12475/...

    GPS Loss Theory

I missed the part about the second trip. How close are you flying to the ADS-B tower?

    GPS Loss Theory

GPS and ADS-B are hundreds of Mhz apart and FCC certified cockpit devices should not be interfering with anything. The ADS-B antenna could also have other antennas doing other things. It could have been a solar flare, I think you can look at solar history and see if there was anything going on...

Average Dual Time Before Solo - I Know - Everyone is Different

IMO It mostly depends how frequently you train. I would show up once a month, sometimes skipping a month, and it took me 22 hours of dual before solo. Don't do that!

    issues

That's great you can rule nicotine out. Imodium sounds like the way to go. I wish I knew about that stuff back when I was chewing nicotine gum. The only thing that worked for me was eating very small portions, with nothing between meals except for a couple of tic tacs.

    Harbor Freight for tools?

The people that hate HF are the people that try to buy something at the lowest cost then complain when it doesn't work right or falls apart. Their 120VAC welders are the perfect example. People buy a $400 welder that runs on 120VAC... Then blame HF quality lol.

    issues

Any nicotine use? After 10 years of smoking I quit and switched to nicotine gum. I started having all kinds of GI issues from the increased nicotine. It took months of being 100% nicotine free before things started to go back to normal.

    Checkride scheduled!

I got tripped up on the oral. The DPE asked how I know all of the ADs on the aircraft were performed? I rattled out the answer. He said okay now do that. I had never actually gone through the process, and fumbled with it. Knowing the answer wasn't enough, make sure you actually do all of the...
