Text of the Bill being sent to the President

That explains the requirements for Insulin Dependent Diabetics. To fly a Cessna 172, you have to have the same requirements as a Commercial Truck Driver carrying 50,000 lbs 3-6 feet from you on the freeway.

Question on CPAP compliance any AMEs in the house?

I'm trying to parse this one out: (From the Guide for AME, page 252, at Download, Print, or View the Complete AME Guide For CPAP/ BIPAP/ APAP: A copy of the cumulative annual PAP device report. Target goal should show use for at least 75% of sleep periods and an average minimum of 6 hours use...

    Magnetic variation exam question

Which one from the FAA guide? http://www.faa.gov/training_testing/testing/test_questions/media/sport_rec_private_akts.pdf (Sorry to be a butthead, but using the actual item from the FAA material will help others on this.)

    PPL Written

Yes. I tool mine the week after the new questions came out, and used the ASA and Sporty's app to study. I got 4 wrong, so 93%. It seems that the FAA wants to be sure that you question yourself when you get caught driving drunk, like how long you have, and which place to report it. It seems...

Anyone have experience with dropping objects? (on purpose ;) )

Something that's a little old-school that may help, and it's been used on airplanes before:

    Suggestions for flying around Seattle

I was down there for a total of 2.5 years, and I never saw one in the air. Now I see them (or hear them) 5-6 times a week!

Article about speed record from London to Malta broken by two Type 1 Diabetics

this is what I'm talking about... http://www.timesofmalta.com/articles/view/20160717/local/diabetic-pilots-break-world-record-in-flight-to-malta.619105 I never said it would be easy... I only said it would be worth it.

Question on CPAP compliance any AMEs in the house?

It's an average. A value of zero destroys an average, as I learned in high school. It takes 9 100% to make up for one zero to still get an 'A'. Even getting 25% (guessing and getting 1/4 correct) on a test reduces your "need for 100%" value to 7, getting 50% (educated guesses) reduces that to...

Now that medical reform has passed what effect will this have on the price of aircraft?

At Aviation Day here in Everett, there were quite a few at the CAP booth that just gave up their medical for OSA (that was the big one), and other issues. Guys that had been flying for 30 years. It'll be good for them to get back in the air.

Now that medical reform has passed what effect will this have on the price of aircraft?

That's in PBOR3! We need your money! That, or the airplanes on the ground will get used more, but I think you're right.

    FAA funding??

Yeah... "Complete" means 27% of the government. The bureaucrats still work, and those that serve the public get a paid vacation.

Text of the Bill being sent to the President

Understood, but what you're citing are the current conditions. The PBOR2 has the 3 items for SI now, so I'm confused on the "prohibited by law" thingy. I do know that insulin controlled diabetes is in the FAR: §67.313 General medical condition. The general medical standards for a third-class...

Visiting the tower at 2pm today (it's on the way home), and anything special I should look for/ask? I'm more of a situational guy, where questions come up as I see things, but any suggestions are appreciated.

No, you made it by 153 weeks. (using the 2 year over 40 assumption...) Blues are qualifiers, reds are disqualifiers. Sec 2307.A: (a) In general.—Not later than 180 days after the date of enactment of this Act, the Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration shall issue or revise...
