Are most airline/airline contracted ramp agents and customer service agents interested in aviation?

I am wondering, but are the majority of ramp agents or customer service agents who work in ticketing/gate duties/etc. at the major airports interested in aviation, want to become a professional pilot, or go into other better careers in aviation? Or do they view this as just like every other...

How does a jet engine spool up when starting in real life compared to Microsoft Flight Simulator?

Airline pilots, I have a question for you. In real life, how does a jet engine spool up on an airliner when you start the engine, compared to starting a jet engine in Microsoft Flight Simulator? In Flight Simulator, when you start the engine, the engine spools up slowly to say 5% or 10% N1...

In which decade did you start college?

Started at a NJ county college for Associate degree in Fall 2009, graduated in Fall 2011. Then transferred for a Bachelors degree to an out-of-state state college in Spring 2012 and graduated in Spring 2014. Took 5 years to get my Associates and Bachelors.

What Degrees do Airport Managers at Major International Airports usually have?

Yes that's true. For a large airport you really have employees from various educational backgrounds. I think for medium-sized and GA airports more people have an aviation background.

What Degrees do Airport Managers at Major International Airports usually have?

Right now, I am not sure if I want to go all the way up the chain. I am wondering how far an aviation degree would go. Just exploring possibilities.

What Degrees do Airport Managers at Major International Airports usually have?

That's what I thought. I am just curious how far an Bachelor's degree in Aviation Administration or Aviation Management would take me. If I really wanted to go all the way up the chain, I think at some point I would hit a glass ceiling somewhere up the chain and cannot advance any further...

What Degrees do Airport Managers at Major International Airports usually have?

Curious to know but what kind of degrees do airport managers at major international airports usually have? I'm talking about the person at the top of the chain the Airport Manager/Executive/CEO. A quick search online shows that the Airport CEO for PHL has an MBA in Finance along with a...

    Aviation Colleges

I am one of the guys that hold a Bachelor's degree in Aviation Administration and I work at a major international airport in the Northeast. It pays just about average, but I still make enough to live by myself. Most of my college friends who majored in aviation whether pro pilot or admin were...

Oh okay. Thanks for the quick responses. That answered my question.

Can a Sport Pilot fly to see his family but not fly back to go to work?

Just wondering, but regarding sport pilot limitations, is this flight operation considered "in furtherance of business"? Suppose a sport pilot flies his own LSA up to see his family for the weekend. However he has to fly back on Sunday (of course during the day arriving before nighttime) so he...

Spirit Airlines and Carry-On Luggage & Fees Question

I see. Thanks for the advice! And yes the personal item dimensions I had in my OP was a typo and I edited it. Yes it's hard to find a personal item that fits the 8". I have a high school/college Jansport backpack that if I stuff things in it would be over 8" in depth.

Spirit Airlines and Carry-On Luggage & Fees Question

I'm flying to LA in a couple weeks and I am planning on taking Spirit Airlines. I am planning on taking a carry-on luggage with me (not talking about the free personal item that's 18 x 14 x 8 in.). So how strictly enforced are their carry-on baggage size (22 x 18 x 10 in.)? The length of the...

Should AOPA work on creating, streamlining, and simplifying the special issuance process for ADHD?

Just wondering guys, but if you are a parent and the school let you know that they want their child to be tested to see if they have ADHD, Autism, etc what would you do? Would you go to the extent to refuse evaluation to your child, to the point if its obvious or likely they have it, just so...

Should AOPA work on creating, streamlining, and simplifying the special issuance process for ADHD?

Is ADHD still common among children and adults in the U.S.? If so, do you think AOPA should work with the FAA on creating, streamlining, and simplifying the special issuance process for a medical for pilots and prospective pilots who have ADHD, including simplifying and streamlining the process...

    Going BasicMed

Yes your original response answered my question, thank you! When I asked if a person could use BasicMed for sport pilot I already knew BasicMed was not intended for sport pilot. What I really wanted to know is if one could use parts of BasicMed like a BasicMed physical, etc. to make a more...
