I think the earlier Cherokee 6 had a big fat hershey bar wing and the Lance has a wing that is a bit more friendly to gain a few knots. Cherokee 6 flys like a School bus and Lance like a truck. Both can lift a serious load.

What's the price difference between the Dynon and the G3x? If you aren't going with the Dynon autopilot (don't know if it's approved for your plane), then I'd lean towards the G3x in the hopes that the out of the box integration will be better with a full Garmin setup.

My A36 has a 1387 Useful Load. It's getting a new modern panel at the moment. I'm hoping to gain at least 13 pounds of useful load with the new lighter avionics. That would get me to 1400# WooHoo!

My 1971 A36 will do that. It doesn't have air conditioning though. If you want air, then upgrade to an IO-550. Gain useful load that offsets the weight of the AC. If you add tip tanks, UL jumps to 4000#. After factoring in the increased weight of the tip tanks and the AC, I'd have about a...
