Just why is the Cardinal so slow?

It's slow, I flightplan 120kts on 9-10gph But it's very comfortable, is very responsive (for a Cessna piston single) in pitch and roll, very stable and easy to fly. And they do look purty.

    Cessna Cardinal Cruise RPM

If it's less than 75% power, it won't hurt that 360.

Wichita to San Antonio in a 172

SEP is a great stop. Tell Todd and Bill at the FBO hello. Hard-8, Cazadores, Grumps. Great food stop. Gainesville has very inexpensive fuel too.

Engine Failure on Takeoff From Tulsa Int'l and Amazing Landing

I think I sent more emails today to our newsroom than ever before. How to say the runway, what is the plane? How many people can it carry? Why didn't they have a flight plan? Who is the owner? Why was the owner not flying it?

Engine Failure on Takeoff From Tulsa Int'l and Amazing Landing

    Charging battery unattended (Wiring question)

I think it's a bit better not to try to push voltage in when it's very cold or very warm. Would prefer to leave the battery alone at that time. I'd love it if I could find one with the temp logic in it. I'll keep looking for one.

    Charging battery unattended (Wiring question)

Any of you geniuses made a rig to only allow a trickle charger/desulfenator to work in a certain temp range? I'd like to only charge between 32° and 90° in the hangar. I figure I can do a box with two line-voltage thermostats, one for top limit and one for bottom, or a single thermostat that...

Tips for a very long XC (6-8 hours)?

I wouldn't worry about the flight plan, but FF is a good idea. You can change your destination easily enough just by telling the controller. "Ragtag Center, Cherokee AlphaWhiskey needs to change destination to Hillbillyville, Hotel Bravo Victor" controller may ask why, I usually just say "I'm...

    Foreflight record question

It exports from the app to "other apps" of which google earth is a choice if you have it installed. You can also export a 2D flat view to twitter or FB too. Not sure about the vertical bars. probably just seconds apart. In this pic, it lost GPS altitude or something as I was flying a...
