    New terminology

I know they changed "taxi into position and hold " to "line up and wait". But when did "hold position at " become used? For example I was givin a takeoff clearance and after I had responded started onto the runway when the controller had called me and said takeoff clearance cancelled hold...

Is it ever acceptable to use a double click as a response to an ATC transmission for a non directive ( like just an altimeter setting).

Well just completed the x-country requirement for my ppl. For the last .2 remaining needed yes your seeing it right 2 tenths lol, i did 2.3 from KSFB- KSGJ-KSFB. So i count that as 2.1 towards my instrument requirement. It was a beautiful day to be up flying. calm winds and cool air , well...

    Horrifying plane crash :D

I watched this one several times and i think it was a case of rigging failure or the lifting point in that aircraft gave way. And yes i do know what i am talking about as i am a crane operator as seen in my profile pic.

    Horrifying plane crash :D

Well i am a crane operator, and that was a dumb operator and bad set up and gross overload of that crane!!!!! The reason he couldn't pick it back up was he was out of chart and the crane started to tip over ,so to stop that he got rid off some of the weight , to put himself back in the chart...

    Whats your interpretation

OK now for another idea up to interpretation. In the FAR'S the prerequisite for an instrument rating is the pilot must fly 40 hrs of simulated or actual instrument 15 of which must be with a CFII. So the term "actual" would lead me to believe that as long as there is a instrument rated pilot in...

    Whats your interpretation

I was 99.9% sure of the answer as i have read the FAR's several times and was just curious to what ideas i would get from this question. It may seem like a stupid question but im sure someone somewhere has thought about this or even done this. As i have myself talked to a pilot who thought he...

    Whats your interpretation

Here is a scenario for you. Lets say i am flying with some friends , i am the pic and only a VFR rated pilot in the left seat , my friend is a instrument rated pilot in the right seat. At some point in the flight i run into IMC conditions and my friend gets a pop up clearance. To make it...

Well another 2.7 in the log book for my solo x country, the problem is i needed 2.9 to meet the requirement of 5 hrs. lol oops misssed it by - that much ;), oh well i need a total of 500+ hrs of cross country for the ATP anyway so it all counts in the end. Now my next cross country will be...

If a pilot is on VFR flight following. Would it be ok to let center or whoever the ATC is doing the following know of your intended descent for weather or a descent when in range of the intended airport.

    Yeah Baby.

An update on my progress. Did one of my xcountrys today. KSFB > KCGC > KSFB at 2.1hrs and had a great time. i made all my nav log check points with in a min or so of planning, so i guess i did fairly well on the planning portion of it. my crosswind landings still need some work but thank god...
  20. Crane Pilot

    Yeah Baby.

So an add on to the ongoing story. I did my second solo flight this past sunday. I wanted to go to the coast (KEVB) and see the beach from the air again but the clouds were moving in faster than i would like, so as to remain vfr and not have to play dodge cloud the whole trip i decided to just...
