Same as RyanB: What's your specific concern? I often fly in/out of Shreveport Downtown (KDTN) that is similarly close to some similarly tall buildings. I'm aware of them and just make sure I don't fly into 'em, same as I do with all the 300' - 2000' towers that are pretty much everywhere.

If you're talking Redbird, then your comment is well-taken. But speaking as someone who usually does see a simulator every six months or so (BATD used for instrument currency), I can say those sessions with a CFII are a LOT cheaper--and more instructive/effective--than getting those...

Or that may be a pipe dream. The GAMI fuel had been sitting in storage for months with no sellers. None of us here know their economics--they may be selling at a steep discount just to get it out into the marketplace. If/when it takes hold in the market--especially if 100LL is discontinued...

That was my thought, too. But AvGas at my field is ~$5.50, and mogas is ~$4.00, so the payoff (for me) would be about 450 hrs. Depending on how often you fly, that could be <4 years or forever. But there's still the hassle of hauling it back and forth to the gas station...

Not all of the lights were lit--only the beacon at the top. They're flying in an urban area that is saturated with lights. Picking out a lone flashing light that might be blending in with lights on the horizon until you're right on top of it might be a challenge. The bigger question in my mind...
