You're...you're really going to compare oversight of someone building a plane in their garage to oversight of flying a metal cylinder filled with a few hundred thousand pounds of high explosives that can fly multiple times the speed of sound and reach anywhere on earth? Really??!?

What are currently the best EFBs for Android?

Yes, I'm talking to you. You claim that individuals should trust their own experience, yet you seem to insist that your experience should override the OP's experience--it's NOT working for him: I'm sorry that you're mad that someone has used an Apple product and had a bad experience with it...

What are currently the best EFBs for Android?

Yes, it is. Like when someone feels compelled to come into a thread explicitly about Android apps to go on and on about how great Apple stuff is for some reason.

    Pocket knife: Weird or normal?

I never knew this existed! Thanks!

    Pocket knife: Weird or normal?

Whoops, fail. (This has gone from "thread drift" to "thread la-la land".)

It is at least as extensive and expensive. Spaceflight oversight is also relatively new and does not have 100 years of evolution to develop and refine policies and procedures and cultivate in-house expertise. The knowledge and tools required to support the FAA's aviation and spaceflight...

    Pocket knife: Weird or normal?

Your action was not legal, whether provoked or not. "Open carry" does not equal "open invitation to brandish threateningly and demand someone else's property". Had you said, "Sorry, all I've got is this," and shifted your position to make your gun more visible without overtly threatening the...

    Pocket knife: Weird or normal?

One or both of those actions was illegal. Neither is really something to brag about.

    Pocket knife: Weird or normal?

I have wished for my toothpick numerous times on an airliner. The knife just happens to be in the same assembly that holds that other tool. I have never needed a blade on an airliner.

    Pocket knife: Weird or normal?

I have used the toothpick in my Swiss army knife in all of these locations. I used the flat-blade screwdriver tool in my plane once to "ooch" back a pin that was securing my door closed for which the release linkage had broken. I *might* have found something else inside the plane to do that...

    Pocket knife: Weird or normal?

Here. The group was mostly made up of folks from New Jersey. Three were from NM. My girlfriend (who was the friend in that friend group; I was just her plus one for this gathering) and I were from Texas.

Texas GA airports with hotels close

The hotel is still there: https://www.ameliaslanding.com/ I thought Jay sold it years ago, though. Not sure where he is now.

    Pocket knife: Weird or normal?

    a) The venue in my anecdote was not owned or operated by the government. My rights were not violated--I was perfectly free to turn around and not to go into their venue and keep my knife. b) 99.99+% of my life I'm not going through metal detectors. 95% of my time I'm not thinking about my...

    Pocket knife: Weird or normal?

Where I live, that might be true. Where I was, it definitely wasn't.

There is already some mechanism in GA for users to pay: Fuel taxes. You can argue about whether different segments of GA pay their "fair share", but there is some payment happening. There is currently no user payment mechanism at all for space flight. That hasn't been much of an issue until...

    Pocket knife: Weird or normal?

When I was growing up, my dad always carried a ~4" Case pocket knife (something like this). I saw him use it frequently, and I developed the opinion that it was a handy tool. (Plus, I was a kid, and knives were just cool!) When I was in college, one of my buddies carried a Swiss army knife...

    Low-cost, portable CO detector?

That's what I use, too, but I don't know if it counts as "low-cost" per the OP's request.
