[NA] Determining an appropriate deposit amount

I'd do that for materials.. But I'd want some kind of assurance that the delivery would be made directly to my site...not his. For labor... I like the idea of 'paying for goals accomplished' ie you both agree in advance what tasks are what % of work done - ie concrete completed, 25% payment...

AOG for over a year and waiting on a conti crankshaft - Boeing has missed three "guaranteed" ship dates

Sounds very very familiar to my story in 2020/2021. Bought a used TSIO-550; yay the crank got redtagged for a crack at an oil passage. I did my own legwork because my completely useless overhauler wouldn't even make the effort "there are none". I was looking in France, South America, Canada...

    Gaston’s 2024, who’s in? Sept. 27-29. 3M0 or KBPK.

Us old guys are talking about your visit to Gaston's - it's been years since we went. The DamOne Arrival. Fog over the river every sunset. Peacocks. Beating up the strip. Renting a boat on the lake? Hoping you go to the Dam tonight (with one legal driver). Taking the restaurant manager to task...

Hurricane Hunting in a Lear Jet

Topped multiple midwest tornadoes at 410, didn't see a thing - if that counts for anything. Was hoping for no mechanical problems for about 30 minutes.

    Flying a baby

I found this, I suppose it applies to GA as well. Surprised to see ‘fwd facing’ at 20-40#. For ears, I suppose having them use a pacifier to stimulate swallowing. Plenty of cleaning supplies & deodorizers. https://www.faa.gov/travelers/fly_children/child_safety_seat_tips

    Big Hangar Roof Questions

In view of your weather, I would look at the local hangars that have easily survived multiple ’canes (you’d have to interview the local owners, pilots, fbo managers). I bet there are also some proven hangar designs & some well-known construction companies in the state that get mentioned several...

Does anyone wear out their exercise equipment?

Pretty much wore out my body, esp my joints & feet, hiking. I have to decide which routes to spend my last few micrometers of knee cartilage on, not a lot left.

Upcoming AD for many more PA-28 and PA-36 wing spars. 100 anomalies and 6 cracked wings found

Here is some info on the original AD, for background (has good photos).

Upcoming AD for many more PA-28 and PA-36 wing spars. 100 anomalies and 6 cracked wings found

It says, " (1) Has accumulated 12,000 or more total hours time-in-service (TIS) on a wing spar; or (2) Has missing or incomplete maintenance records." Does this still mean "much of the PA28/32 fleet" (or am I again reading a government publication wrong?)
