    Which Government Agencies hire pilots?

FAA is recruiting for flight inspection pilots as we speak.

    ForeFlight versions

Can you even buy paper charts anymore? 10-15 years ago when EFBs started to became a thing, ForeFlight was the reward for passing your PP ride. Now I'm not sure you could find a CFI to talk you through paper chart flight planning.

I voted before I read your message. I use Pro, but basic will work just fine for what you're doing.

    False DUI

So you're saying an 10 page ranting manifesto about how the officer made an unlawful arrest "because I'm a sovereign citizen" and "I only had eight beers when it takes 10 beers to make me intoxicated so the traffic stop was scam" might come back to bite me? Either way, it may help the FAA make...

    False DUI

You have to report it. You can also explain to the FAA why it was a false arrest.

    BasicMed CMEC Date and FAA

It is. But you could enter the date of an exam that is about to expire or has already expired. The OP was asking about a situation in which he completed his two year course before he completed his four year exam. So when he submits the CMEC date for completing the course, he'll enter the date...

    BasicMed CMEC Date and FAA

Yes, it says that for the reasons above. However, 61.23(c)(3)(i) makes no distinction in what sequence you do them. You just have to meet the look back requirements.

    BasicMed CMEC Date and FAA

There's no specific sequence required by regulation, although as I noted above, if you do the course before you do the medical exam, the exam date won't show up in the FAA's records until the next time the course is completed. In both cases it's a look back-- 24 months for the course, and 48...

    BasicMed CMEC Date and FAA

No. The proof of compliance is the actual CMEC and course completion certificate. That said, some folks (such as a potential employer if you're a CFI or FBO if you're a renter) might want to see the proper dates in the FAA website. If so, retaking the course is rather trivial. Also, if you got...

Departing VFR after telephoning for an IFR clearance

I don't think that's what he meant. He said "obtain a IFR clearance" not "file an IFR flight plan" which I assume is what you're referring to by "called in a clearance." Lots of flight plans get filed that never get activated.

Departing VFR after telephoning for an IFR clearance

Agreed. Doing a hybrid of the two without getting ATC on board first will at best cause confusion, or at worst, an enforcement action. An IFR clearance at a non-towered airport will include either a void time or a "hold for release". Taking off with no further communications with ATC is not an...

Pvt Pilot as Passenger local day Part 91 Sightseeing Flt (not 135). Gets to fly and logs it all PIC?

i suppose once the student is back in the ground, the flight is over, and Capn Bligh is no longer in command, the student can go back and correct his logbook for all of the flight time that the OP will most invariably log incorrectly.

Pvt Pilot as Passenger local day Part 91 Sightseeing Flt (not 135). Gets to fly and logs it all PIC?

Some of them even write, issue guidance for and interpret these very regulations.

Pvt Pilot as Passenger local day Part 91 Sightseeing Flt (not 135). Gets to fly and logs it all PIC?

I thought he said it was under 50nm. We really have no idea what the flight was or what part it was being flown under, aside from what the OP reported to us (part 91).

    BGI/AGI/FOI

Here’s the guidance the FAA refers to to issue you a ground instructor certificate: FAA Order 8900.1 vol 5, chapter 2, section 17 See paragraph 5-673(C). Looks like proof of employment to teach at a university is sufficient.

Pvt Pilot as Passenger local day Part 91 Sightseeing Flt (not 135). Gets to fly and logs it all PIC?

No. According to 61.51(e), the commercial pilot acting as pic may not log any time that he is not sole manipulator of the flight controls. The only way they could both log it under part 91 is if the operation required both pilots or the OP’s student was receiving instruction. There is no...

Pvt Pilot as Passenger local day Part 91 Sightseeing Flt (not 135). Gets to fly and logs it all PIC?

As his instrument flight instructor, are you going to freak out when he logs his instrument training flights as PIC time? As part of the logbook review, I would have used the time as an opportunity to review 61.51 and when you can log flight specific flight time. It's natural for an 18 year old...
