    MOSAIC Status

Me either, except I think his is an owner's policy and it looks like your policy is non-owned. Assured Partners is the broker, I use them too. My policy is underwritten by Old Republic...

    MOSAIC Status

I definitely like those terms/conditions better! Who is your underwriter?

    MOSAIC Status

I think you're probably covered as well with the above language, but it still doesn't say BasicMed. It looks like exercising Sport Pilot privileges flying a LSA is covered. Still - A bit different than an owner's policy...

    MOSAIC Status

Will be interesting. I guess there are a few protections for insurers with BasicMed. That said, I have yet to see a policy that has the word "BasicMed" in it. I have been trying to figure out why my RV-12 policy is more expensive (for less coverage) than my C172 policy and based on your...

Will your heirs even want your logbooks?

I enjoyed reviewing my Dad's logbooks after he passed. I think your idea of memorializing your top 10 is a great idea!

What single engine trainer to buy?

C172 or PA28. I own a C172 but would lean towards a PA28 for flight training. If you consider other types, make sure to check on insurance to avoid any surprises...

HIMS AME told me to not report

OK, understood. Unfortunately, as you probably already know, the hoops you're going to have to jump through are probably slightly less as burdensome as a DUI case. That being the case, I completely understand why you would want to take the AME's advice and not mention the diagnosis. Still, if...

    Am I being unreasonable?

You're lucky! I always had to fly the missed approach...

HIMS AME told me to not report

Actually you haven't given enough details. Practically everything except a common cold has to be reported. Was your diagnosis a disqualifying condition? How hard would it be to prove you never or no longer have the condition? I certainly wouldn't want to start off a new career waiting for...

    Discouraging flight last night

+1 on getting some windy day pattern work in. Nothing builds confidence more than experience.

    Just the umpteenth OSA question.

Would seem to me that they will want 365 days, especially if you have been treated more than a year. If you don't have a year's worth of data perhaps they will accept an affidavit? Regardless, you really need to consult with the AME that you will be using as not all AME's are the same. Since...

    Suspected Carb Ice...Rare Magneto Failure

Flying is lifelong learning! Surprised to hear you had never heard of sumping the fuel strainer until after PP. The only other advice/comment I would offer is to follow the preflight procedures in the POH/AFM... Blue Skies!

ATC and Tower Too busy to conduct training due to staffing issues

I don't doubt it. For whatever reason the next generation of ATC's appear to be unable or unwilling to provide the same level of service and competency that the previous generation provided. I don't contact the local approach or tower in the area unless I absolutely have to...

Our Airports are becoming POW camps

@CaptainRobertRiter I'll echo what others have said about refining your message and suggest reading the first third of "Making Friends and Influencing People". You may have better luck trying to educate your city officials and have a plan of how they can achieve the improvements you desire to...

    Age 75+ Insurance

The only way to be over insured is if you have coverage in excess of the value of your assets. "Socking a few grand away every year" is only $150K after 50 years. $150K wouldn't come close covering an injury accident or something benign like taxiing into a Citation wingtip. I don't like...

    My 1st aviation hiccup

    OMG! That's a terrifying story!

    Age 75+ Insurance

I think that's great and didn't mean 70+ pilots need to be thinking about hanging it up. What I meant was, at 70+ is it worth the hassle and is it cheaper to spend the $ to restructure assets rather than pay a higher premium for 5, 10 or ... years?

    Age 75+ Insurance

It may be cheaper and certainly easier to just pay a higher premium than jumping through the hoops to properly structure your assets. At 70+ one has to start thinking "How many more years am I actually going to be flying"?

    Age 75+ Insurance

That would be my thought as well. I'm only 56, but from my experience hull is the most expensive part...
