    Thinking about a T-6

When only one thing is left, no matter how unlikely, must be the truth. Gonna have to say it’s Navy, and clearly superior…?

160kts (Vne), idle, prop 1800. Usually 45-60 deg angle of bank and about 2 gs. Would give me about 6k fpm.

    Skydive accident. One dead

Feathered is aligned with the wind… WAY less drag. Until that point, yes, you are totally using the drag of the prop to get down.

    Skydive accident. One dead

Well, I think the prop will FULL feather in the event the engine quits. With the nose down ya got at that point, you’re gonna pick up speed awful quick… Here’s the view out a PAC 750, really a low wing version of the caravan. Nearly 15 degrees nose down.

Tailwheel time...does it matter what its in?

I would qualify my recommendation by mentioning I’d only get one with a continental… for reasons mentioned above! Plus one on the Chief. Inexpensive and plentiful. Although… as you may be able to tell by my pic, got a serious soft spot for 120s or 140s!

Tailwheel time...does it matter what its in?

Not really… get him a Pietenpol. Cheap, easy, will get your tailwheel skills right up where they need to be! And he can take the occasional friend… depending… Uh… 500 x 100 comes in at 4 zeros, right? I’d definitely buy him something. You got LOTS of options. In addition to the Piet...

    FAA ATP Prior Experience

My copilot currently faces the same thing… Best we can tell, he can avoid the written by getting a single engine ATP. Otherwise, it appears you have to do a written. Usually the problem is the amount of time you need, which isn’t a problem for you. Please keep us updated on what you...

Aircraft owners thoughts on IA requirement for annual inspection

Using an IA isn’t the only way to get an annual done on a certificated airplane. Go to a part 145 repair station… they don’t have to have one! Problem solved… whoda thunk?

    Anyone Fly RC Planes?

Not really an issue for most until you get to overhead maneuvers. There’s a few who simply get dizzy from the word go. And then there’s the guy who can do an entire stunt pattern with a towel over his head with a combat ship goin 130 mph… and a little engine screaming at 30k rpm!!!

Where in the world can I find a HIMS Psychiatrist?

FYI, it does NOT need to be an HIMS shrink. Ever. If it isn’t, gotta make sure a coupla, not surprisingly, administrative items are covered. Remember, this ISNT medicine. It’s ADMIN.

    Skydive accident. One dead

I don’t think you can close the door from the seat of a van and think your max speed is like 130kts or less. Still, it’s a strut braced wing, that’s gotta be tough to rip off… Maybe a coupla hunnert knots with the door open is super bad?
