DTO Tower Controller and Pilot Argue On-the-Air

A primary target is simply a blip on the radar. No data tag, altitude or anything else. The only thing that can be determined is the direction of flight. She should know better than to berate a non controller on the definition. Also she’s wrong about the short approach thing. She is an...

    Finding Downwind Struggle/Sweat

Do your homework before you arrive at the airport ie, learn the traffic pattern, frequencies, pattern altitude and direction of turns. Listen to the ATIS, know where you are in relation to the runway in use and follow ATC instructions after checking in. I’d like to know how you were “slammed” by ATC.

    PA-28 Master cylinder leaking

Ryan who posted above works with me on my plane so he covered about everything. I had to replace all my hoses which came to about 11 of them if I recall. I also had to rebuild each master of which there are 5 including the hand brake. I have dual brakes. I don’t remember exactly how much it cost...

Is it legal to accept payment for training if you don't sign a log book?

And if the doctor gives the rep a few bucks, who cares? If another pilot gives me instruction on how to use my avionics, I’m obliged to at least pay for their meal and maybe a little extra because it was worth it to me. I really don’t see an issue here

Thanks for posting this BrianY. Although I know mine is fairly new as it was replaced with the trim barrel, I’m going to go recheck that bolt and all the other bolts too. <—-deathtrap driver /s

How to set up to land with a dead engine.

It will never be for “real” unless you actually shut the engine off. You’ll still have a little thrust even at idle.

    Buying a Pa-28 140

I have upgraded mine to 160hp plus a Power Flow exhaust. I have yet to fly it. I don’t think the power flow exhaust really ADDS hp to the engine. Since its a tuned system, it releases the horsepower you lost with that convoluted Piper factory exhaust.
