If you don’t have enough rudder to keep the aircraft aligned with the centerline, it’s too windy. But then again, by the time you determine that, it’s too late.

It’s scenic. Mountains all the way around. Winters are great and summer is hot but not as hot as phoenix.

C-130 overheads are a daily occurrence for me..as well as unusual requests for opposite runway instrument approaches, lights out approaches and often times, ignoring tower instructions, making 180 degree turns in the pattern with other aircraft present, trying to fly without a flight plan, etc...
Since someone else resurrected this thread, update: my Cherokee is now 160hp with an engine monitor and power flow exhaust. No performance numbers yet as I have yet to fly it.
Matter of fact, I have a few Marine C-130s here that flew over the holiday weekend. I must say that they were a pleasant contrast in skill and communication than the base assigned Air Force C-130 knuckleheads I normally deal with.
