Planes collide at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport

Looking at the damage to the Airbus the Dash was no doubt on the runway at C4, probably awaiting a take off clearance. You can see damage to both Airbus engines likely from hitting the back side of the Dash wings. Fuel in the Dash wings was likely the initial explosion.

Youtube Pilot and her dad perish in TN

Unless you and/or your passenger are not properly belted in and your entire body weight is now pushing down on the controls (gravity) thus making it impossible to pull up...

Youtube Pilot and her dad perish in TN

I wonder if the family will start looking at who they might hold accountable. The DPE? Any CFI who signed her logbook (endorsements, instruction, etc.)? I assume CFIs carry some sort of insurance...

Youtube Pilot and her dad perish in TN

Recently I saw a video where someone concluded that if she was nose down and in a dive and didn't have her seat belt tight, gravity and her body weight might have made it difficult or impossible to pull the controls back. They also speculated about the second transmission from the father...

    TCAS-RA

Thanks, seems like the controller in the above video put two planes too close together and I wondered if he would ever hear about it for training purposes...

    TCAS-RA

Just curious, when there is a TCAS-RA incident, are the pilots required to report it to the FAA or someone?

Youtube Pilot and her dad perish in TN

Did she get an endorsement for complex? Did the insurance company require any additional training going from a Cherokee 150 to this Debonair? In one of her videos she indicated buying the Debonair was a hassle. I wonder what that was about or was that just she's an instant gratification kind...

Youtube Pilot and her dad perish in TN

In her video posted a month ago "Training with my Dad" she highlights "DPE Dad Today" within the first few seconds... So it appears he was a pilot and DPE at some point! Yet I never hear him offer any advice...

Youtube Pilot and her dad perish in TN

Perhaps she was competent in her Cherokee, barely, and then upgraded to this Debonair which ultimately killed her. Did her insurance require any additional training, dual hours? Did a CFI have to check her out in the Debonair for insurance purposes? Did no one tell her that the plane was too...

Youtube Pilot and her dad perish in TN

If you notice in just about every video she adjusts the GoPro in front of her off to her right. Got her private in May 2022 and now over 400 hours? That doesn't compute with her flying skills... RIP

    Round Two

Find an airport nearby with a pilot association with regular meetings. Often they have monthly training presentations that could be of great benefit to you. Additionally, you'll meet some pilots and perhaps some CFIs and get a more local perspective. Pilots are always helpful!
