still wondering about the log entry, funny, a 20,000 post guy is so bent up about a 1 post guys story on another site. I still think you have wiring issues, a volt meter goes a long way.

I would love to see the log entry for that one, did it fix his trim problem? God was it?

I've always been happy to offer some advice, and answer a question or two for anybody, if it gets deeper, I offer, what I feel is a fair price to help. I have to say my patience grows a little thin when someone, with little knowledge, refuses to listen to the simple logic of troubleshooting...

Old Parts (What to do with them)

I worked at a shop with an engine reman division, they used to have barrels full of scrap cylinders. I could see a line of those set up at the craft breweries we see these days. Back in the day, they financed the summer BBQ's with the cash from scrapping them.

Old Parts (What to do with them)

You spelled New Old Stock Part wrong, you would think, with nearly 20,000 posts, you would be able to get that kind of stuff right. I intended on leaving aviation and pursue relaxing and playing with my Wife and traveling, within a week of being gone, I was being inundated with requests for me...

Old Parts (What to do with them)

It's entertaining to find a guy so critical of someone that offered an unused new old stock part, with a 2017 date code, for less than a quarter of what honeywell sells it for, if a dealer were allowed to sell it. I see someone looking for a part number for a switch of one of my favorite...

I charge $150 dollars an hour to educate others on how to efficiently fix their issues, I've been doing it for decades, all over this planet. Few have spent more than a couple of hours. I charge zero for any part or repair I'm involved with, unless it's one I have collected over the years...

Explaining the use of an "as removed", correct part number, (in this case new old stock) never removed part, might be a bit easier than your $10 part. I'm reminded of when I realized there are two different types of pilots out there. Very early in my career I was beat on heavily about final...

In today's litigious society, why would you risk having a $10 switch that you saved $400 dollars on, repairing a $100K plus aircraft, pulled out of a smoking hole, possibly negating any insurance, and perhaps bringing further liability? I shop around for the cheapest fuel prices, not the the...

    Saving money

Generally, with a well placed voltmeter, you can save all kinds of time and money. The trick also, is what I was trying to convey to the original guy, when you see a bug, stomp on it. He had a switch with a classic failure he had been nursing along until he said another issue cropped up...

Don those days are not over, I'm even closer now! Just a phone call away. I still do my best to help folks get their autopilots working properly, now I am working on a network of shops I can work thru for troubleshooting. A good percentage of the time, I'm able to guide your local mechanic...
