    POTUS TFR

Was just in the TFR around cincinnati last Thursday. Was on IFR to I69...canceled about 10 miles out from air and landed without incident...although flying formation with some F16's would have been cool. ;)

    GA parking at KTYS?

Was just at KDKX last week for a night...$5 to tie down for the night, which was waved when I bought some fuel. Great folks at the FBO and great airport that is super convenient to Knoxville ($8 uber to downtown).

    Owner replaced VOR indicator

Check out the prices for a panel mounted clock vs. the clock on your Iphone/Ipad or any other $20 clock/timer you could velcro to your panel...and my point being that the agency making the rules that only and A&P can install certain avionics is the same agency that says only a panel mounted...

    Owner replaced VOR indicator

Of course these rules are from an agency that says you have to have a clock mounted in your panel to fly IFR...and says if your plane has an "experimental" sticker on it, then you can do more panel stuff and still use the same airspace as the rest of the "Certified" planes...

    Looking for KX175B Nav/Com replacement.

I called and explained the situation and the troubleshooting methods I used. The avionics tech was very helpful and agreed that the radio was probably bad. Was emailed a return shipment label within minutes and radio is on its way back. Pretty good customer service to this point.

    Looking for KX175B Nav/Com replacement.

Not yet, figured I would go with who I bought it from first. My fear is they will want to have it worked on...I didnt buy a new one to have it worked on right out of the box. Hopefully Aircraft spruce will just replace with another unit. Will shall see.

Thats what I was thinking...the connections on the back are probably at least 40 years old on mine. Did you do anything to clean connectors before installing?

Pre buy piper or Mooney in sw Ohio.

I am sure that would help in locating a plane. Question, is it common for folks to buy a plane site unseen? That "feels" like a bad idea to me, but I am by no means an airplane evaluator...so other than cosmetics (which should be attainable from pictures), would a buyer really need to see the...
