    Should I remove my tag?

    I enjoyed the stories, personally.

    He couldn't have faked it.

    A scary-close call...

Hopefully we'll see more ADS-R to fill some of the gaps, but that will still lead to feelings of false safety since we won't know where areas of no radar coverage (or shadows) exist.

    If you're flying in...

Safe and comfortable may often be synonyms in this case. Hopefully you're comfortable flying your airplane in any safe corner of the envelope.

Busted the Bravo (Not me though)

Ouch. I've never had a controller play that game with me.

Busted the Bravo (Not me though)

That used to be in the 7110, to be fair. It may have been cleared as requested, though. One of them. If i got proceed-as-requested in response to a question clearly requesting transit through the bravo, I'd accept that as implied enough that the FSDO wouldn't come after me.

    1976 C-172M speed

Depends on your definition of fast... it's still double the speed by highway and straighter!

    TFR Talk - Transitioning...VFR

Agreed on every count. It's all security theater, but I thought it was worth mentioning that even congress knew there'd be backlash if they didn't let a medevac flight in lol

    Why Aren't UWO Dorms Full?

The bus runs until 2330, so you have some time. Also, they have uber, so getting around after isn't so bad.

    TFR Talk - Transitioning...VFR

There's a specific exemption (even for the inner ring) for "approved" air ambulance flights.

AME contacted the FAA to "warn" them about me!

Sounds like that AME was trying to diagnose in this case, but regardless, they're attesting that you satisfy the requirements, in their opinion. A second opinion should always be an option... and if it wasn't, why let the RFS or even CAMI have any say beyond the AME? AMEs can and will make...

AME contacted the FAA to "warn" them about me!

Second opinions in the medical realm are acceptable, though. Why would asking for another doctor's opinion in this case be any different?

    After the Grand Illusion ends...

If you're on the East side, you can get a T for 250, but its 2-3x (and more) that on the West side. Up north, it may be a little cheaper, too, but I don't want a 1 hour drive (sans traffic) to get to my airplane.

    LOM/MM DME GPS

But it's only going to be using the correct reference if you have the approach loaded and active.

    After the Grand Illusion ends...

We landed there Sunday coming and Saturday leaving and it was fully staffed both times. Neither time were we the only folks on the ramp, either. The lady at the desk was telling me how the COPA group had their entire ramp filled just for several days before. On the way out, we spent some time...

    After the Grand Illusion ends...

I'd love to rent a hangar, but Ts are stupid expensive around here. Renting a hangar would literally double my cost of ownership annually, including variable expenses for 100hr/yr. So, instead, I park outside.

Busted the Bravo (Not me though)

Coming back from OSH, I annoyed a Houston TRACON controller. We were just north, and I wanted to make sure she understood I wanted to transit the Bravo, so I (on VFR FF) asked if I could proceed direct destination. She responded "proceed direct West Houston." I don't mind a clearly implied...
