Negative pricing on electricity

Does anyone else get excited when your electricity goes to negative pricing? I got the EV charging at 11kW per hour, the heat is on toasty mode (yes I know it is primarily gas but the fan uses probably 1kW).

It’s probably just a dollar but it sure is exciting lol. And after taxes and fees I’m probably still paying something, but it’s less than normal.

Propane was $3.40/gal delivered the other day. (not sure how to get it cash and carry)

I am on a electric co-op and got a rebate check last month.

Gas heat off, electric heaters on.

Dang! How do you get such highly variable pricing? I'd absolutely try to work that. I pay flat rate 24/7.

That must be variable pricing.
In Texas when several power providers went offline in a storm, some homeowners got monthly bills in the $16,000.00 range.

Yeah that's wild. I have hourly pricing, which i use to charge my car at night and run the heat pump extra hard so it runs less during the day. Our power price has certainly never been negative so far as I'm aware though. Lowest I've seen is about 2 cents. Id be doing the math on some storage batteries.
