Since @mandm won't do it :biggrin: ....here's the 2025 flying related goals thread.

Most of my 2025 goals are fallout from my engine failing again.

-Get my airplane back together and put at least 100 hours on it.

All contingent on getting the engine done and broken in:
-Finish my commercial
-6 Lifeline flights and 20 young eagles
-Add another state to the map

Stretch goals:
-Land at KEYW
-Complete the RV-14 tail kit and start on the wings

@Jim K , I’m still a little salty from the MC council ignoring my MC application and subsequent request to update my status to “Avionics upgrade”.

Watch out for the balloon when going to Key West :) and fly direct to Kennedy Space Center after (watch the ADIZ line) and ask to do the space shuttle approach to a low pass over the field.

2025 Goals
-Take & Pass the CFI checkride
-Start teaching at my flying club
-Start A&P school (probably not going to do this though due to time commitment required in person)
-Second hangar and airplane?
-Fly 500+ hours (is that even possible?), ideally would like to meet ATP mins
-Take the ATP (ATM) written
-Join an aviation club (EAA?) and get involved

I have done that. Super cool. The VAB is the only thing I've ever seen that is as impressive from the air as the ground.

Fwiw, I don't think you were ignored. It's just that I'm on here A LOT.

Perhaps you know a friend of mine, Cole Loftus. He's done some instructing at Waukegan.
Is he at Skill? I am at Stick & Rudder, name is not familiar but also I haven’t been active at the club since I got my commercial ticket.

Oh I see it now, cool :cheers:
Are you going to fly over the gators? (Aka the Everglades)

Obtain commercial, multi, CFI and CFII.
Edit to add, I really would like my tailwheel endorsement as well.
Oh, and a mountainous area checkout.
ETA: Maybe an upset recovery class as well.

Good question. I've always planned to follow the gulf coast, then cut the corner down towards the keys, staying within gliding distance of land, then follow A1A down to Key West.

I'd like to get close to the iron lighthouses along the keys, and Miami Beach would be cool to fly over as well. I've flown the Atlantic coast from Cape Canaveral north to Georgia. Maybe on the return trip I could go up the east side, do the shuttle approach again, and then direct CMI.

1) Finish the Amphib kit IF I EVER GET THE EFFING PARTS FROM THE MFG, and fly it to RR for lake and runway landings + plus two more, one being the Ohio RIver and Lunken Airport. This assumes I land Wheels down for the runway and Wheels up for the water for the first pair of landings.
2) Oshkosh and RR (reservations made)
3) Wake up 365 Days.

I have other non Aviation goals but not as much fun.

* Set 2026 goals
* Earn a rating
* Pass my second class medical
* Fly the Cub more
* Meet at least one additional POA member without getting put on ignore promptly thereafter

For those discussing the Space Shuttle approach, did you imitate the shuttle glide path? If you did it in a Hershey bar Piper, what were your power settings? :stirpot:

Get the plane the rest of the way to Australia; last year was USA to UK, start of this year should be the remainder. Stops planned in Slovenia, North Macedonia, Jordan, Kuwait, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Christmas Island, and then Australia.

My goals are simple: fly good, don't crash, don't become famous on VAS Aviation or similar youtube channels, don't become a multi-page topic on PoA.
Let’s create a thread titled mandm :p

What’s the check mark in the middle of the Atlantic?

Get UPR/spin training.
Start working on a commercial certificate.
Fly to KSRR for the New Mexico Long Range Rifle Championship in Capitan. Flying to rifle matches was the prime driver for buying a 210.

I'll be in Iraq till October, so with the remaining few months of the year it'll be simple, just fly at least once. Going to have to switch to Basic Med initially until my medical gets sorted out, will probably take a few months at least. Hopefully have the complete S-21 airframe kit purchased by the end of the year, the vertical tail and rudder just got to my dad.

Get closer to 200 hours for the year. Only 110 this year (didn't fly much first 4 months of the year)
6-8 PALS flights
Find someplace to do some aerobatic training that has an aerobatic airplane a gorilla can fit in (might not be possible)
Stay instrument current & proficient
More new airports
More weekends trips to new places

We'll see how many of these the work schedule can cancel.
