San Antonio woman prison time for laser a police helicopter

I wonder what percentage of people that laser planes actually get caught. I suspect it is a fairly small number.

Having harsh penalties for the few that are caught should scare others from trying it. And would no doubt if they were intelligent, but I don't think its the best and brightest that are doing this in the first place.
 
Each laser should be emblazoned on the device "You will be raped for years in prison if you shoot this at airplanes!"
Sorry to seem harsh but I value my retinas, and can imagine how the many monocular pilots feel about this.
