Well that's a new one. Flight from Florida to Haiti hit by gunfire on approach. Diverted to the Dominican Republic.

Given that it was a flight between Florida and Haiti, I would have given even odds on which end of the flight was the one during which it received gunfire!

I flew to Haiti a few times a couple of months after the earthquake. It was quite the experience and I’m glad to have it, but there’s no way I would go back under the current conditions. I did have a painting that I bought from a local artist framed that I treasure from the experience.

Been a rough couple days there apparently. Spirit, Jet Blue and American all report taking fire. Flights are now stopped.
