I don’t think I could lose the weather lotto worse than I did yesterday!
It was reporting vmc when I left, and then many times while enroute.
Nearing the airport it was “<1/4sm vv200” lol.
I tried once, hoping I could circle to another runway, in case it was a local effect but saw nothing. (There were multiple fog banks interspersed with clear areas plus some higher layers) Center vectored me for 20 minutes but it was plainly hopeless so I diverted. A medivac plane decided to hold as well, I thought maybe he knew the local weather better but I don't think he got in either. There was a light breeze and the sun was just up so I was briefly hopeful.
Seems like the more pessimistic MOS was the better forecast tool yesterday.
The lowest rnav mins are 400', no other approach.
