Garmin GTN750 and GTN650xi with FS510

My aircraft has an existing GTN 750 and it is currently in the avionics shop to remove a Garmin aera 660 (installed in the panel) and SL-30 and replace both with a single GTN 650xi. I currently have a FlightStream 510 card for the GTN 750 and I use Database Concierge through Garmin Pilot to update the databases. I have not purchased a second FlightStream 510 card as I didn't think it was necessary. Will the GTN 750 and GTN 650xi transfer database between each other or will I need to download databases to a normal SD card for one of the navigators? Can I swap the Flight Stream 510 card between the two navigators once a month for database updates? What are your recommendations? I do connect in flight with ForeFlight to my GTN 750 for transferring flight plans and tracks.

if you are loading the database in to the GTN750 it will update the other units that are connected to it in the same family (more modern ones, NOT the 430/530 units).

You don’t need another 510. Once you load the updates with Concierge it will send the update to the other one. It’s a great setup too. They will cross fill the flight plan also. This is nice because you can use the map page on the 750 and the route page on the 650. They work together quite well.

Thanks for the replies, both. Do you recommend moving the FS510 to the newer GTN650xi for better performance with the newer MFD or keep it in the GTN750?...or does it even matter?

My plan was to have the map on the GTN750 and traffic on the GTN650xi...

You have to set the units to Crossfill. You should be able to ask your installer set this.

Mine was not configured properly at first. The shop loaded each unit individually and didn't reset the Crossfill.
