I thought it was an athletic association. I certainly hope they included SEC and ACC....

One of my vendors used to have this ridiculously long email signature where he listed his name plus every degree/cert/whatever he had. Was an email chain between a bunch of us with just a name as a signature, and that horse's ass. So finally I figured out every applicable cert/achievement/association I could think of (relevant or not) and tacked that onto my email and finished it with EIEIO.

His signature from then on was just his name and company.

There’s a story about Jeno Paulucci, founder of the Chung King Chinese food brand. He was either acquiring or selling a company, so there was a board room full of lawyers. As they’re sitting there, the lawyers start talking…
“I graduated Harvard Law in 1968.”
“I graduated Princeton Law in 1970.”
And on and on around the room.

Palucci takes this all in. When they’re all done, he stands up, says, “Hibbing High School, Class of 1936,” and walks out.

that big financial deal ended right there.
 
Well they were kind of in the ballpark (ba-da-bing).

There IS the National Intercollegiate Flying Association, Nifa.aero.

They probably don’t spawn TFRs tho.
 
No company is immune. I did a 135 recurrent ground school created by Jepp once, and whole I don’t remember the exact subject, but they had a practice test with a question where the answer was something like, “thunderstorms occur in an unstable air mass.”

Of course, they can’t use exactly the same verbiage in the real test, so they tried to change it around. Unfortunately the “correct” answer was “thunderstorms do not occur in an unstable airmass,” as opposed to the answe I picked, “thunderstorms do not occur in a stable airmass.”

Good news is, the retest question had exactly the same verbiage as the practice test question. ;)
 
I recently sent American Flyers a correction to something in the FIRC that was incorrect.
 
Aren't these the same turkeys that turned @SixPapaCharlie in to the FSDO?

True story. I actually heard Jeno tell it. He was selling a company, might have been Jeno's Pizza Rolls, to Pillsbury, I think. They went around the room, and when it came to Jeno he said, "Jeno Paulucci, Hibbing High School, class of 1939, and you can take this deal and stick it up your ass." He said three years later he sold it to them for ten million dollars more.

That's the way I remember it, being told to the Duluth Chamber of Commerce when I lived there. Along with a lot of other colorful stories.

It was just 1 guy that worked there and he was justified in being ****ed at me but his reaction was borderline crossing 111.35. Needless to say, I don't bother them for training or testing and they are probably glad.

I never met Jeno, but I flew with a few guys over the years who flew for him. Lots of colorful stories that would never need embellishment.

I flew some people up to Canada for his son, and stayed in their “cabin” (sleeps 31, IIRC) for a few days. I was “the help,” but it’s an Italian family..even “the help” goes to bed with a full stomach. ;)

He had a place on a lake in Ontario, a sort of compound. (Brennan Lake, I think.) I was a guest for a fishing trip one time. He had a Caravan on amphibious floats, and two Beech 18s on floats. Among the passengers was a professional chef, and we dined like kings during the few days we were there.
