Amazing airplane, first read about them earlier this year- +10 rated. I guess I can understand the fun of aerobatics for those with the skills and can stomach it (literally), but just don't understand the need for some to do it on the margins. Looks like a miscalculation similar to the Bill Anders mishap...

When I first read about it I passed the info along to my son, said it has a 400 degree/second roll rate- which not knowing any better seemed impressive. Response was "Meh...T-38 is 720...

He was an airshow pilot, he's going to be out on the margins.

It's SOP to practice on the margins, instead of giving yourself say, another 1000 ft agl? I know zip about aerobatics, just curious. I completely get that it would be a different sight picture- but if that's the way it has to be done it's far riskier than I had imagined.

I've had a ride in a Gamebird. Pretty capable airplane. Followed Gamebird West and interacted on Instagram. Pretty sad deal, he didn't seem like a careless kind of guy. .

You start working your routine at a higher altitude. But you need to work it down the altitudes you will be flying it.
