Anyone Need an Inch and a half Combo Wrench?

I have a SnapOn inch and a half combo box and open end wrench that I don’t need. Anybody have use for such a tool. It does have the initials “RP” engraved on it. Free to the first person in the 48 states who replies, I’ll pay the shipping.

The nut on most common 2" trailer balls is a 1½". The wrench is useful for that.

Actually, we bought it. We'd built a race car and wanted to replace the rubber bushings in the rear control arms with spherical bearings. The spherical bearings that were a close fit for the control arms took a large diameter bolt and that bolt had a inch and a half head. Most folks, I suspect, would use a socket, but one side was didn't have enough clearance for that on one side, hence the need for a giant wrench.

I'm just thinking, a 1 1/2" Snap-On combo ought to be worth, what, eleventy-million dollars?

1½" is also the size of the oil suction screen retainer on some Lycoming engines. I bought such a wrench to facilitate oil changes on the O-290 my Hatz (though in line with the hitch ball commonality, mine is branded "Reese").

It was a smallish race car. We used a big spherical bearing because it fit in the stock control arm with just a little honing. The optimal thing to do would be to cut off the ends and weld on some smaller ends and use a small diameter spherical bearing and bolt, but none of us had those skills and it would have taken too long to find someone who did.

I believe that also fits a 3/4 inch (or maybe 7/8) titanium hydraulic line b-nut fitting, if you happen to have an F-15 or similar in your hangar. That wrench will hold the weight of a fully grown man hanging off the end of it while attempting to loosen/tighten said b-nut.

With a 5 foot piece of pipe slipped over it.

People laugh when they see it hanging on my hangar wall, but 1-1/2" is also the axle nut on many GA planes.
