I purchased a Zagg shield for my Ipad a year ago...

I didn't like the product...sticky and very difficult to apply...

I then purchased a standard shield at Wal Mart and was very satisfied...it only took a few seconds to apply.

Before applying the shield, THOROUGHLY clean the screen with an optical solution and an appropriate cloth, using a blower ( camera cleaning type ) until the very last second is highly recommended - any speck of dust left on the screen will create an annoying bubble beneath the shield....

People tend to touch it anyway. It would annoy me if I had one.
 
Reminds me of a buddy who did a lease back on his 172. He came to fly it one day and someone had taken grease pencils and marked up different instruments for what appeared to be an IFR flight. I guess with all the touch screen stuff out there, it is easy to forget. I know the challenge having an Aspen and GTN in my plane.
