you have to shoot an approach when returning to a lower floor in one's office building!!

Seriously, I was on the 10th floor of our building and it was hard IMC, I could not see the ground. My office is on the 4th floor (BTW since our building has double 1st and 2nd floors being on the 4th is like being on the 6th)and I can see about 1/2 a mile laterally but at least the ground is visible.

The view out my office window today had the top half of the Washington Monument above the ground fog, and everything below in the fog bank.

Wish I had a camera - quite the view.

Cat II into DCA this morning.
 
While driving in to work I watched the morning Fedex jet circling the Boise airport. Out of curosity I called the ASOS, it was reporting 1/4mile vis and 100ft ceiling. After about 30 minutes the jet was gone I didn't check to see if the weather got better at the airport (I would guess it did since I was in clear and a million less then 10 miles from the airport) or if it diverted.

Yabut, we're always in the fog pit over there. I swear they built that airport in some kinda hole...
