WWII Bomber fans rejoice

Wow... hopefully they are planning a flyover of all the bombers. That would be something to see!

My dad talked of missions with hundreds of B-29's. Can you imagine that sight? Or the sound?

That is my understanding, Joe. We'll just have to see if the weather allows it. Last year a two ship B-17 fly-over was planned, but the ceiling and viz dropped before they could launch.

This could be the largest assemblage of B-17s in the air since the Memphis Belle dedication when 7 took off from West Memphis, AR to do a salute back in the 80's.

In formation, perhaps. We had 6 B-17's (IIRC) in the air together in the pattern and vicinity at the Yankee Air Force's "Thunder Over Michigan 2003". This year we have 6 slated, plus 2 B24's (last two) and the B29, scheduled. So, if we're closer to y'all, or you miss Osh, come on over! August 6/7, KYIP).
