I can't seem to get this combo to show traffic. Last flight my buddy with FF+Stratus was showing a lot of traffic.

Settings seem to be okay. Anyone else using this combo?

possibly location of the xgps? Call them on Monday morning.

If you don't have ADS-B out, you may or may not see any traffic. You would need to be nearby another aircraft equipped with ADS-B out. The ground towers only transmit TIS-B traffic data for a 15 mile by 3000ft radius around an ADS-B out equipped aircraft.

We had the Dual and Stratus side by side on top of the glareshield. Stratus was showing tons of traffic (mostly big iron coming out of a Bravo airport) but Dual showed none.

I'm interested in this as I was just about ready to buy a GPS170.

Dang it! I was just thinking about selling my xgps170.

The Dual is only single 978mhz band, and gets traffic info rebroadcast from ground stations. The stratus is dual band. That may have something to do with it. I'm 99% sold on the Dual/Avare combination. Avare has worked great for me so far, and I'm primarily intersted in having weather info.

More interested in wx and METARs than traffic. Good to hear.

The Stratus 2 is dual-band (1090 and 978), the Stratus 1 is single band (978-only) like the DUAL XGPS 170.

You probably know this too, but the weather data comes over the 978 band, which is why the single-band receivers all choose receiver that one.

Hey, Been using an iPad Mini running WingX Pro for almost 3 years now.
I also have a Dual XGPS 170. This has been a Great combo for me.
Here is what I have learned...
Check that in the option 1view that ADSD radar is on.

Do NOT have the Dual app running at the same time that WingX is up. When I fly, my iPad is first turned off, then booted up & ONLY WingX is running.

I am always getting traffic & always getting weather. I am based in S. Fla. where there's always traffic to be seen & always something showing on the color radar & lately LOTs of color!

Interesting. I believe that I did have the Dual app running. All others were stopped.

Not running the dual app in the background worked on today's flight. Was able to get ADS METARs and some traffic.

Remember... As Hilton has said,
When you are running WingX, make sure that all other apps are closed. I usually do a re-boot & then only open WingX... Yesterday, I had great radar showing & very accurate traffic.
Try this & then re post:)

I have wingX Pro with the Dual 170. I also have ads_B out and I have seen a bunch of traffic usually before ATC calls it out. Only on two occasions have I not see it acquire aircraft. One was a lear and a 737 climbing out of BWI off my left wing tip as they overtook me and once going into Groton CT and a dual wing X and for my student with my having the mini with the iLevel and FLYQ EFB for two trips to Florida in the past 3 months. I flew solo on a round trip from FDK to Love Fieldl and the FLYQEFB dropped the iLevel a couple of times each directgionl I am waiting for the next release of fkyQ to hopefully work better. Both applications worked with the skyradar ADS_B; however, I do not like all the wires with skyradar and I really do not like the display of the skyradar appl.
