WingX 6.9.2.0 released - Nice

Another good release from WingX...6.9.2.0- Among other things, this one adds an "Airport Information" button in the top-right, which allows you to select an overlay. Of particular interest, is the surface wind overlay, which gives a visual indicator of direction, and (if the winds are 10+) it provides wind speed and gusts. Very Nice, Hilton!

Agree but I have not been able to get the Auto APD to work using the Sim... anyone done this yet ?

It has to see your speed drop below 45 or 90 knots depending on what you have selected in the settings. I think the simulator just runs at one speed that you input, so it does not see a speed decrease below the 45 knot trigger setting.

Presumably, in-flight, the weax would come from ADS/B... Or whatever cell signal is available, correct?

***edit*** - confirmed on Red Board, it updates (automatically) via Internet or ADS/B.

Auto APD (Airport Diagram/Taxiways) (as per Hilton post on Red Board)...
"Must be displaying Charts either full screen or split screen. We deliberately did it this way so that if a VFR pilot was just doing touch and goes at one or more airports, WingX Pro7 wouldn't take away his sectional and force the pilot to tap away while on the climb. So, by selecting charts, the pilot is essentially telling WingX Pro7 to change when appropriate. Remember, the split screen is your friend, the split screen gives you the best of both worlds."

I'm a bit lost by this reasoning. If someone is doing touch and goes, the last place they should be looking is at an electronic device. If someone can't navigate the traffic pattern without assistance, there is something wrong.

If I accept his use case, though, it would also seem to me that the problem could be rectified by having the program automatically switch back to the map when ground speed increased beyond a certain threshold.
