Cleared for Takeoff
So,.. can't fly in there, but at the South end of the Naval base (what is left of it, it is being decomissioned slowly and will close in 2012) is the Wings of Freedom Aviation Museum. This is a small collection of military planes and equipment, along with many small models of the military aircraft or static displays of uniforms and armament.
Admission is Free, and they are open Wed, Friday, Sat, and Sunday. You can see their website at http://www.DVHAA.org .
Today, we had a chance to get into the base as well, since my Father-in-Law is a retired Chief. They were having a reunion picnic on the grounds, and families were able to attend as well. It was nice for him to see the many people and look at photos of their trips. As we were leaving, we stopped into the Museum. Below are a few photos from today,.. so if you are in the area, stop on over to check it out. Just a short drive from Wings Field or Doyelstown.
