Which airplane engines are most reliable?

Under regular circumstances which engine is more reliable, (If all maintenance records are kept up to date on all three engines).

Would a turbine Engine outlast a single engine?

Would a Turbo prop outlast a turbine?

MTBF and TBO are two very different measures and are likely to give different results.

I think you need to decide whether you're really talking about reliability or longevity.

? There are lots of turbine singles, and a turboprop is a turbine.

Generally speaking ,the turbine will last much longer than a recipt due to only having 1 major moving part.
The turboprop is but a turbine engine running a Reduction Gear Box (RGB) which has a failure rate twice that of a propulsion jet. plus the prop

I think you are asking what is the most reliable...jets, turbo props, or recips. To which I believe jets are the most reliable of the three.
 
Turbo-jet is likely the most reliable. Turbo-props are second, simple piston engines next and turbo-charged piston engines last.
This is my opinion based on the question, most modern aviation engines are fairly reliable given reasonable care. It's the accessories that seem more likely to cause issues, starters, alternators, exhaust systems, carburetors, props etc.
No engines are completely bulletproof, but turbines have a very high dispatch rate and produce a lot of power for their weight. :D

There are some Jets out there with Rocket engines as well. We actually don't hear about many failing, possibly because their aren't many out there!

Turbine engines would be my choice,if cost is no object.

Also turbines don't have reciprocating parts. Turbines just spin, they are are as expensive as they are because they spin very hot parts very fast.
 
The most reliable one is the one that is used daily. After that, a turbojet probably. Only one real moving part, unless it is a dual shaft design.
 
It would be even more relevant if there were stats that compared 0-320, 0-200, 0-360, etc.

Well, the fuel pump has moving parts even with a single shaft.
 
Turbine engines have parts that are spinning, at a high rate and a high temperature. Piston engines have parts that are constantly changing direction at a high rate at medium temperatures and constantly trying to tear themselves apart, and pressurizing and relieving their cylinders thousands of times a minute.

You should be able to answer your own question.
