Right, I remember! Well, 260 ain't bad!

Nice. What was the tailwind component?

On Tuesday I made a run to MEI for lunch and had a 40kt tailwind at 5K.

Paid for it on the way home...ugh.

Looks to be overhead from his FlightAware track.

Nice GS, Dave! We got 220 over the ground heading into HPN. Unfortunately this was after getting 160 on the same leg. It's funny how those speeds feel very slow when your Janitrol heater has stopped working.

Nice! The real question is: did Atlanta let you fly directly overhead, or did they make you go around?

Rich: Pretty normal to get directly over ATL on this flight. From there, usually to Athens, then direct Greenville. This trip, we dropped someone off in Columbia--Owens. Hotlanta gave us direct Columbia from ATL. We usually get a pretty steep descent after Athens as the airlines are arriving over that. So, they keep us up until we pass; then, we come down about 1.500 feet a minute or more when going into Greenville.

Best,

Dave

I've done a bit better a few times in the 58P, but 260 is always fun and we were over 250 for a long part of the trip.

Best,

Dave

I need a faster plane. :)

Hope you have a Merry Christmas, Dave!

What are you flying?

Hint.. look at the Avitar.. :goofy:
Hint.. look at the throttles in the picture next to the GS. Baron's had the throttle (MP) between the prop control (left) and the mixture (right). :goofy:

ok... just kidding with ya.. could not resist..

Haha, and what's worse is that I already knew what he flew, but just forgot!

I tell clients that airplanes are nothing more than time-saving machines. The question they must answer is "How much time can you afford to save?"

Yay for ATL controllers. I forgot Greenville is your annual Christmas trip. Watch out for snow on the way back -- my brother told me the Atlanta area is forecast to get some Xmas day! I'm safely down here in Florida for the week.

Merry Christmas, Dave.

Seems to change as we get a bit older; I seem to remember a time when the saying started with faster women :goofy:

 I suppose so!

You're 65 knots faster than I am, don't expect any sympathy from me.

Yeah, but you forgot to put paint on the plane. Who knows what else you forgot that could impact that 65 kt difference. :D

Old people don't react well to young whippersnappers reminding them that their memory isn't as good as it used to be, so you should be more sensitive in your comments. Not only that, but . . . er . . . what was it we were talking about?

I want those airspeeds. :(

Santa, if I'm REALLY good this year, can I have an MU-2? :D

Ted: There's an MU-2 thats been sitting on the ramp at KPOU for a few years....you could offer the guy a couple of bucks, then go for the MX bill and fly her, Can't vouch for the avionics though...

I'll make sure to be more sensitive as soon as I can remember to do so. Half the time I get in the plane and call up "Williamsport Ground... err... what am I flying and where am I going again?"

Anyway, I'll be more... wait, what was I suppose to do?

Who needs avionics? Just point the plane in a direction and when you run out of fuel, land. Alternately when you run out of land, land. Or fly over water until you see land again.

We're not in a mode of buying planes right now. The 310 and the Aztec are about perfect for our needs, and with three out of the four engines having overhauls in sight, acquiring another money pit wouldn't be very prudent... even if it would be a really cool money pit. :D
