Does it come with the Permatex for the cylinder bases?
catch up,, that has been proven wrong. the bolts that failed have been Rockwell hardness tested at #18 and 20 on the Rockwell scale. grade 5 bolts test at 25-28 on that scale.Of course not and that is not a fair or even a fare question.
It just comes with untorqued bolts.
and while you quibble, it sold.
There was no troll, he knew what the Ad said, and what it meant. If the buyer didn't get that information before putting up his cash, he was naive. I'm guessing he asked and you politely provided the info, as opposed to trolling him.
There was no troll, he knew what the Ad said, and what it meant.
You see he knew what it was worth.
read post #1 is it so difficult to know what those parts are worth? Not without details, he didn't. Did your ad provide details or not? It isn't a difficult question.
I wasn't quibbling, I was simply observing the painfully obvious deficiencies in your description of the box of parts you have that may or may not be enough to build a serviceable engine. You asked, don't complain when people answer. And yes, for the record I did indeed read your original post. It was lacking a lot of information, or did I already mention that?and while you quibble, it sold.
Glad you found someone to unload it on.
you do realize you can't buy a crank for that?'
16.9K from "Signature"
Ask a question so he can proceed to tell all the answerers they are wrong?cause that's his .....MO.
Exactly!Ask a question so he can proceed to tell all the answerers they are wrong?
or a fair price....I still don’t know what tom thinks is a fare price for his parts.....
I forgot the quotesor a fair price....
Please show me a 0 since major rebuilt 0-200 for under 10K. his was no EXP engine, cranks alone are $6k, cylinders are $1070.00That has to come at a sufficient discount or nobody is going to bite. You can get an assembled experimental O-200 for under 10k.
That's a good question. I must have been crazy to think I'd get an answer here.why are you asking us for prices?
Kinda pitiful don't ya think for you to get so upset because I asked for an opinion. So why you bugging us about it?
Well... at least one you'd agree with. Don't come here to have people tell you what you want to hear, Tom. You should know that by now. That's a good question. I must have been crazy to think I'd get an answer here.
What I wanted to hear was a price, see one?Well... at least one you'd agree with. Don't come here to have people tell you what you want to hear, Tom. You should know that by now.
Yeah, I changed the blocks on three Chevy small block engines, including R&R from the boats they were in (new boats, failed to winterize, cracked the blocks!) in a regular 40-hour week, without any rush (but with beer, it was allowed back then.)40 hours to assemble an engine?
But you didn't include enough information to even give an estimate. The details that were conspicuously absent would give an extremely wide range of potential values. If all I had to go on was the information you posted, I'd have offered maybe $5K at the very most. Without knowing where the parts fall in the spectrum spanning "barely serviceable" to "new or like new", it's impossible to say what they're worth. What I wanted to hear was a price, see one?
but you axed for the fare.....not the same question pal. What I wanted to hear was a price, see one?
what's a token?....we don't have those. Transit card?Fare price? Three subway tokens.
Only to those who get hung up on spelling.but you axed for the fare.....not the same question pal.
For christ sakes, go back and read the post..But you didn't include enough information to even give an estimate. The details that were conspicuously absent would give an extremely wide range of potential values. If all I had to go on was the information you posted, I'd have offered maybe $5K at the very most. Just ONE little example. You pointed out that cylinders are $1070. Yes, NEW cylinders are. You never have said whether the cylinders you had were new, used, repaired, etc. That kind of thing makes a difference, you know. Ditto the crank. A NEW crank might be worth $6K. A crank that's at the limit and can't be ground again for the next overhaul? Not so much, right?
No right now you have a very difficult finding a used one that will pass inspection and then it requires a regrind.
Your box of parts may have been worth a lot. It may have been worth a lot less. We don't know. You asked a question, never did provide enough information to answer your question, and then griped when people pointed that out. But now you know what ONE person would pay for it, so I guess you have your answer.
I have 2011 Ford F150 for sale. What's it worth?
no simply because of the conversation the would occur after.Tom, just post the effin' price the engine sold for, will ya?
Only to a introverted little school girl, If you couldn't understand what was being said, you best stop using the internetSpelling counts. Doesn't matter what substandard teachers may have told poor students in the past, spelling counts.
