I'm not looking to buy or upgrade. So which planes shouldn't I buy? I have no flight or trip profile requirements.

Don't buy mine. I'm still using it.

you shouldn't buy an airbus 'cause they fall out of the sky

I think the best plane for you not to buy is the plane you already own.

A boat,diamond jewelry,or any other foolishness

Don't buy a 172, they are boring ;)

I've heard if it floats, flies or ****s, its cheaper to rent.

You could have started the thread "I've purchased a Cj4- should I continue my PPL training in the C172, or do touch and goes in the jet?"

If you are getting out of flying, you probably won't need to buy condoms anymore.

Did you mean to type "flying" instead of ****ing?

haha!

I started flying long after I was married but rumor has it (according to pilots) being a pilot is the icing on the cake that seals the deal with the ladies.

Ed knows all about that! ;) That's why he has a 17 yo kid

What not to buy? If you want to fly, don't buy a project. It's almost always cheaper to buy your ideal airplane than to but a beater and make it into your perfect airplane. On the other hand, building a plane is good fun, but I had a plane to fly while I was building. To watch your plane sit on the ground for renovations while your friends are going flying is not fun.

Maybe you should start a kickstarter to fund your non purchase? Get someone else to help you not pay for a non existent purchase.

Don't buy a turboprop experimental, because they are the future.

Awesome idea! I'm in for $0.25

I have always found it funny that people who pride themselves on flying need autopilots.

Yeah, I don't get the I need a plane with an autopilot mentality. If I had an autopilot, I would end up a smoking hole in the ground because I would fall asleep.

I get bored after about 5 minutes of AP.:dunno: Get a plane in trim and all you have to do is nudge it around a bit.

I do not have a functional autopilot in my current plane. I don't need a fly-it-all-the-way-to-the-ground autopilot, but something that can hold a course or a nav track is certainly nice. I see no experience value in hand flying a plane in a straight line for four hours straight.

You'd be amazed what it does for your finesse on approaches in bad weather.
