What plane are you daydreaming about today?

The great photo spread that @Lowflynjack posted the other day has got Swifts on my mind. There's a real sweet looking red Super Swift with a tan interior (like a Ferrari), up to date panel, control sticks, sliding canopy, and just enough polished aluminum to look slick without making me cringe at the idea of polishing it. It seems like a plane that's just practical enough to use for short trips with the fiancee, and just impractical enough to be a lot of fun, plus it's not so expensive that it's an unattainable goal.

My daydream airplane changes periodically, and I usually keep returning to a Citabria or Champ to take my son flying it, but the Swift has caught my attention for now.

What's your current daydream airplane?

would 'my own' be acceptable? would love to be flying today but we got some freezing rain rolling thru.

One where I’d be flying instead of riding in the back of the bus on a Boeing. But at least it’s a Boeing.

I've been lusting after classic taildraggers lately. After wrestling with which direction I want to go in aviation, I keep coming back to low and slow. Flying is my passion, a type of therapy for me. What better way to do it than in a piece of history, 500'-1,000' AGL, and 70ish knots?

B55 Baron with boots, radar and steam gauges....

None!

Went out and flew mine this morning, shot some approaches, picked up a bit of ice, made 4 landings in 20kt+ crosswinds, etc.

i.e. had a blast!

Daydreaming not required. ;)

I can attest that this is an excellent form of therapy. I've got a few handfuls of hours in a Champ doing exactly this.

A nice AT6.

Two christmases ago my fiancée gave me a really nice custom A-2 leather jacket, and I swear that every time I wear it I suddenly decide that I need a T-6 to go with it.

Nice! What kind of plane? I'd love to see some pics.

I would like a two hole biplane and go barnstorming x-country. Landing only at non-towered fields. Stolp Starduster Too would work nicely.

I’d like to own an airplane with the good looks of a Glasair III but with a 40 knots stall speed. Or maybe an ifr, glass panel RV9-A with a nicer looking tapered wing.

A tricked out Kitfox, like Freedom Flyer, or Freedom Fox, can't recall which name just now.

Wasn't so obvious in the Tapatalk app :)

Twin Flyer wasn't the one you originally asked that of. There is no pic for who you asked, twinwinters. :)

Saw a nice Cessna A185E with a GTN750, and Aspen glass.

Waco UBF-2

Also, this is a good time to buy a Swift. Prices for ALL Swifts have dropped significantly in the last decade. There are a bunch of really nice ones out there with all the mods, including big engine for under $100K which were running $125K+ a few years back.

Ask me how I know... :(

Mine.

Doing the calculations (capacity, weight and balance) for the new fuel tanks I'm gonna build (from 8.5 to 12 gallons each). Now I have to get the metal and start bending it.
The hole where the old tank was, and the new one should fit into:20180203_145538[1].jpg

But I agree with OP. After that air to air was posted with the Swift, I have been looking at them all over the interwebs. I love taildraggers and that is a sweet one.

Lately I've been dividing my time between a cherokee 180 and a SUPER sweet debonair. The debonair makes everything more fun
