What is your daily use car

20201019_115816.jpg 20210729_110039.jpg 2013 F150 Regular Cab, Long Bed. For the farm, that's what I need. My 40 hour job is only a 4 minute commute, so gas doesn't kill me. Getting to the airport is one of my longest drives at about 20 minutes. Much further than that and we take the wife's Corolla.
 
My daily driver is a 2012 Dodge Ram that just turned over 43K miles.

This is my baby, tho... 2009 Wrangler with 34K 'old man' miles on it. Sits in the heated hangar for those cold Ohio winters...goes topless in the summer (til it gets too hot) :-0

No daily driver for me. I live in CA so don't need to factor weather and work from home 80% of the time anyway.
 
Company pickup: 2018 Chevy Colorado LT Crew Cab 4x4

Personal pickup: 2020 Ford Ranger Lariat Supercrew FX4 (sits in the garage most of the time)
 
Some of these folks have necrocars.

If a necrothread is a thread that was dead and "brought to life again", does that mean that necrocar has to have had a period in it's life where it didn't run and then it got restored to driving condition? :D

Daily driver is a Dodge Challenger SXT, but I also have my dad’s old red 1995 F150 that I use for hunting, fishing, hauling stuff, etc. @2-Bit Speed used it when he first started driving. It’s become something of a family heirloom so I suspect I’ll be hanging onto it.

SWMBO has the newer F150 with AWD that pulls her horse trailer.

The way gas prices are headed, though, I might make my motorcycle my daily driver.

I would think there are a lot of necroplanes in the fleet using that rubric. Probably mine included. :eek:

I still have my 2003 ML320 (Old Blue) now sporting 234,000 miles. We sold Mary’s 2003 C240, only had 79k on it, and bought her a Benz GLC300.

Old blue is the daily around town haul the dog SUV and Mary’s is the travel machine when we have to ground pound instead of flying.

I don’t buy cars... when other people want them gone, I invest a few hundred and drive em a few more years. Currently a 2005 Corolla. Cost $150 for a front hub. Going on a year.

Before that was a 2002? Town and country. Cost a brake job and $300, lasted 3 years. Affectionately known as the construction mini van.

Before that was a 91 Geo Metro. Another brake job at about $250. Like an idiot didn’t invest the $200 my son just did to get a/c going!!

And on and on and on...
 
I've upgraded to working from home from bicycling to work. And the 'new' car is now driven 1-2x per week. Which gets 25-30 MPG and is a Diesel so I can pump my own fuel here in Oregon.

A white 2019 Honda Ridgeline - the overall best, most versatile vehicle I've ever owned. The huge trunk located in the bed of the truck is what sets it apart. My other daily driver is a souped-up 2016 Vespa GTV 300 scooter. When the weather is nice, my Ridgeline doesn't move for days sometimes. I had a Malossi performance upgrade kit installed that allows my Vespa to go up to about 90 mph.
 
Now in a 2020 Double Cab (or whatever the FULL SIZE back seat is) GMC Sierra, and just last week got a 2022 Equinox - but that's really more her car.
 
Still driving the 1998 F-150 that I was in 2015. I really like the new Broncos though.

In the mid 80's, I was driving a 1978 Chevy Blazer, blue and white, with a trailer tow package, aftermarket AC, full time 4WD, and a nice cassette deck. Snow tires on all four wheels, 15" steel rims, and it was louder enough inside that conversation at highway speed was mostly yelling at each other. It leaked about as much oil around the valve covers as it burned.
 
2014 White Volkswagen Passat TDI SEL. 150,000 miles and climbing. Long distance cruiser, 40+ MPG.

2016 Black Volkswagen Toureg V6 TDI Lux. 22,000 miles and driven locally, 30+ MPG.

In the mid 80s I was driving a ‘72 Olds 88 with a 455 (Buick engine, IIRC) and a 4-barrel carb. Pass anything on the road (or at least that’s what I claimed. Surprised I survived a few of those passes.) got 1mpg better at 70 than at 55, and I lost money delivering pizzas with it in college.

It was just prepping you for owning a radial-engined airplane!
 
Before I retired a motorcycle was my everyday rider. Commuted on it everyday while living in California. Nowadays, I drive a 2018 4WD F-150.
