Well it's official, my plane is Moving, My hangar rent was raised from $283 a month ,to $495 a month. So I will officially be flying out of Carlisle Airport ( N94 ). the new owner of the FBO at CXY can go stuff it as far as i'm concerned. I just hope that it doesn't screw us up with our Special Needs Fly-in that we hold at CXY each year in May.

Hey no kiddin.....I pay $330 and I get TWO hangars, cement floors, and electric doors.

N94 looks nice- 4008, 40 wide, VOR approach....at least you have some choice.

ya know Dave I was wondering when he was gonna screw with the folks based there. The $48 fee just for landing there in a single engine piston is IMHO outrageous. I hope folks flee there like mad. Did you consider farmers pride?

Carlisle is a nice place. Friendly folks. Well worn. Who needs CXY anyway!!!

Too bad, Dave. If there is a God, the FBO can sit there with an empty ramp waiting for the corporate users that never come.

Well, that's a big jump, so you have my understanding...but not a whole lot of empathy. Maybe I shouldn't complain, mine's only $196.66/mo. Oh, yeah, there are three partners in the plane - that's just my share. Welcome to Southern California real estate. At least it's brand new w/electric bifold door. After three years baking on the ramp, we probably would have paid more.

Jeez, we pay $215 for a crappy old corrugated metal hangar, with doors that leak rain in onto the floor, can't leave anything nice on the floor. Oh, and it really isn't all that secure, either, we can't leave expensive things like 496 and anr headsets in the plane. Suckage.

We are on the list for better hangars at a closer airport, but it will cost more, too. :(

We're currently paying $300/month for a new t-hanger with electricity, over head lights, electric door, cement floor and a tile parking pad under the nose wheel. It's large enough that we have a fridge, chair and two sofas in there as well for those hanger flying days.

We're paying $0.2K/month for much the same, a huge hangar that can fit a lot. My share comes out to $0.1K/month. Sooner or later they'll probably pull the same stunt, since my rent hasn't gone up in the 3-4 years I've been in it.

Nice! Our T-hangar isn't even really secure, the walls to the adjacent hangars only go up 6ft or so, if someone wanted, they could use a ladder and pillage adjacent hangars at will.

I really need to take some pictures of this palace.

It's better than being on the ramp. Don't have to shovel snow off wings or worry about hail from those pretty anvil clouds.;)

Payed 15k for a 24 year lease. What's that? Like $56 a month?

End unit T hangar with lounge room.

Sigh. $550 to share a big new hangar with a guy building an RV-9, plus a restroom at the end of the row. It's nice, but heck it better be for that price.

Right now there's an air conditioned workshop that will become an air conditioned office when he's done building. I don't know if I want him to finish or not. I *think* there'll be enough room to get either out without moving the other, but we won't know until later.

Hi Dave,

I feel your pain. My tiedown rent at HPN has gone from $175/mo to $295/mo over the past 3 years. :hairraise:

Hmmm... We pay $516/mo to put THREE planes in a community hangar with 24-hour line service to pull them in and out. We have a pair of lockers for "hangar stuff" in there too. Not too shabby.

Well latest update :
Plane Moved (tied down at Carlisle) $70 a month
Hangar cleaned out
Fuel bills paid
Cut All Ties With KCXY
Dave G.

P.S. On the waiting List for Brand New Hangar being built at Carlisle
