I once rode in the Sec-Nav's red carpet A3, That aircraft would have been a great aircraft to own, in fact this one would be too. it's the last flyable A3, it should remain that that way as long as possible.

From the looks of it, a beautiful restoration - the plane looks new!

When I was in VQ-1 (78-80) we had CincPac's VA-3 (PR-00) affectionately known as "double nuts".

That's the one, at one time (circa 1965), it sat next to hangar 309 at North Island it was cared for by VC3, the composite squadron that owned the JD, and the B-26. that they used as rag draggers.

The question was "who was still qualified" and it weren't me that was looking,,,,,,,,,, just asking. there is a difference.
