I just felt a bit tired. I asked if we could work on the sim, instead. We did a few approaches and I got one expected hold, and one tough, surprise hold.

I'l be flying in an airplane next week. I'm checking to see if that Sennie II is available. There is a problem there, though, in that the owner doesn't want us to shut down an engine. I guess I'll only be able to do three or four lessons (mostly for systems and performance) in that bird, then.

Is he OK with a simulated feather using a procedure that minimizes the thermal impact on the engine at the (your) expense of more time in the airplane for the rating? If so, maybe you can find a DE who would allow you to demonstrate the two OEI tasks in a different airplane without having to become competent in that airplane on any other tasks.

I think the owner just doesn't wan't anything more than 2" per min reductions, if I remember correctly. Sigh. . . .
