Any first hand reports?

Big red cells moved across around 10pm.
I also received text from EAA for hail warning, and they were moving people into the museum.

How bad was it?

We’re in Camp Scholler, haven’t made it to the flight line yet this morning. Storms came through a little after 10p last evening. Gust front was intense. I checked the ASOS a few minutes in and was reporting G39. No hail. A few tents around us collapsed but no obvious damage to anything that I can see. Rained heavily for about 2 1/2 hours. Scholler is a muddy mess.

Our plane shifted a bit in its tie downs but otherwise just a lot of rain wind and lightning. Our tent worked just fine and everything was dry this morning. I haven’t seen any issues in the rest of HBC with the exception of a few whose tents weren’t as waterproof as ours. Unfortunately more rain looks to be on the way for today but the rest of the week looks great.

Isn't it mandatory to have one of these at OSH every year? ;) I'm surprised they don't include it in the NOTAM.
Best to get it out of the way before show start.
Hope everything dries out quickly and you folks have pleasant, dry weather with no bugs the rest of the week!

I just walked HBC and it’s soggy— my guess the other parking/camping areas are the same. With the rain we’re supposed to get today it’s going to get worse. If you’re flying in today or tomorrow I highly recommend having some boards to put under your wheels.

North 40 is now a seaplane base. Bring good tie downs for plane and tent and pitch on high ground

Do you guys think Scholler will take new campers tomorrow? Driving 5 hours and picking up a friend flying to Milwaukee, due to arrive Oshkosh 2p, not sure what we’ll do if still closed.

EAA would be smart to make the call and announce it ASAP. Uncertainty isn't good for attendance - flying or driving. I have friends who are in a 4 wheel RV. They have been directed to overnight at Wal-mart.

Grass parking/camping is closed. I’m stuck in Watertown for the evening. Should be a better day tomorrow.

Hey, I’m in Watertown. Maybe been talking to you and didn’t know it.

I bet it will be open. There is not a lot of rainfall expected and the drainage here is pretty good.

Thanks guys. What’s the number for updates? I’m signed up for all 3 types of text alerts.

I’m in Watertown as well. About to head to the hotel for the night. Hopefully they open up parking in the grass as OSH tomorrow.

Hope all you folks in Watertown are taking advantage of @Mtns2Skies free beer offer. His hangar is at KRYV.

Katie and N Watertown too. Was hard to find a room. Will check tomorrow but worried that they will keep camping closed or a few days like last Sloshkosh.

The north 40 appeared pretty swampy as of 4pm. Ditches are rivers and low points in streets had some flooding. Rain stopped around 4pm and has been dry since, so hopefully with some sun tomorrow should get back to normal. North of Oshkosh, Appleton had some severe storms with lots of downed trees and power outages.

FYI, they are posting info on twitter on the @eaa handle, and posting info on the website:

You can also get text alerts (see attached).

I saw Jack's 170 come in and we had plenty of beer but he looked busy. Will be back out there this morning.
We’re just hanging out in the hotel right now, but I’ll walk over in a little while. Looks like parking at OSH is still closed, so we’re in no rush.

Parking is still closed. The grass is much better than yesterday but water still bubbles up as you walk on it. Didn’t get the rain the forecasted over night so that helped. I wouldn’t expect to be fully up and running until lunch as the sun is behind an overcast layer.

Washkosh 2019
Swampkosh 2019

Someone else here called it "Sloshkosh".

It'll dry out quickly...if the rain stops coming.
It has in prior years.
Did you end up parking the Lancair on the grass, or stay on the hard surface?

It’s parked on the pavement in front of the homebuilt gazebo. Awesome looking airplane!

Here’s what Scholler looks like this morning. Roads are still soft with standing water. People were camping in the check in lanes last night. Someone had a pop up set up right in front of the registration building.
