Wearable Cooling Units

Have any of you tried wearable cooling devices in the cockpit?

They look a bit hokey, but during ground and low-altitude operations, the heat can be atrocious, so I'm curious.

When we were regularly riding the motorcycle in summer temps, we had some gel filled neck wraps that helped quite a bit. I also have a synthetic chamois neck wrap. Get it wet, wring it out (mostly) and wrap it around your neck. Helps a lot.

Ok, back in the early nineties, when I was taking flying lessons, I remember there was an instructor wearing one of these and it was from Sharper Image! It's been around a long time! The other instructors made fun of him, but he loved it.
