Beth and I just got the news that we were selected/approved to adopt Miss Eloise.

We fell in love with all the lil flat heads in the rescue's and wish we could bring home a whole herd of 'em. We'll start with one.

We pick her up next weekend (Jan 23, 2010). We can't wait!

YAY

She is a cutie!! Good luck with her, how nice is that...you and Beth will give her a great forever home.

Unless it hurts her ears or scares her, this little girl is going to be a frequent flyer! :)

If the adoption was before 12/31 you could have claimed her as a dependant!

A couple of trips to the plastic surgeon and that "chasing parked cars nose" can be fixed right up!;)

She is a cuttie.

Great! I'm glad you two found one!

Is that a cat or a dog?

:D

Have fun!

naw, it's just a head and two front feet.... her other two legs are tiny... remember Inspector Head on S&L, this is his dog.... just a head and 2 feet. lol

When our Moogie dog was a little puppy she did bend down to drink some water and tipped over into the bowl.

We picked up Miss Eloise yesterday from her Foster Parents and she is absolutely wonderful! We took her on several walks and when I was getting ready to take her picture down on the Perkiomen Trail, I realized I had my GPS in my camera bag so we took a stroll down a pathway and Miss Eloise found the Geocache (GC15NBD). Coincedently, the geocache is called Dog Leg Canal.

She is a little precious baby girl. Can't wait to take her flying!

How old is she? Will you have to watch over your house shoes?
What kind of dog is she?

The graphic was really slow to load this morning for my post previous to this. She is a French Bulldog and I was able to get her through a recommendation that Ted's team provided. http://www.frenchbulldogrescue.org/ "Miss Eloise" is such a beautiful and precious baby girl; aged 4 1/2. We've already taken 316 photo's of her and I've began writing a blog entry that I hope to have published in the next couple of days.

Ya'll have fun &, Thanks Again Ted.

Good looking Dog Shane. I'd love to adopt a Portugese Water Dog. My neighbor has had one for years they are so smart and friendly. I can never find one to rescue, probably because they are so popular. Now that BHO has one.

So Shane how big will she get?

Cute pup! A friend of mine has a French Bull... very laid-back and quiet for such a small dog.
she's quite old now, but still pretty easy to pick up with one hand.

That's worse than my mom at Christmas! :)

Congratulations!

One thing I've found about adopted dogs (I adopted a yellow lab, a couple other friends have adopted dogs as well): they will not leave your sides. Extra loving, extra affectionate, extra apppreciative of you. I don't know why that is, but it's definitely noticeable with these three adoptees - I think it's because they're coming out of situations where they weren't appreciated (if not worse).

So...enjoy the years of peeing on the floor to come. :yesnod:

Yeah, the "issues" are the ugly flip-side of the "I'm so happy I have a caring 'pack leader' now!" thing...

Peg (who was definitely not properly cared-for before the shelter got her) gave me some grief, initially, with abandonment issues, tearing into trash and food containers, and some housebreaking boo-boos... but between my diligence and her own personality, she overcame all that.

The only thing she refused to adapt to was a leash. She was very manageable off the leash- would stop and wait on command, no matter what- but on a leash, she would tug and go every which way. Tried and tried to break her of that, but never made much progress, and sort of gave up, as it was fine having her off the leash on our usual walks. Used a leash when I had to, but it was a drag with her.
I also had to get a chain leash, because the first time I hitched her to a signpost to go into a store for a minute, she neatly bit through the brand new, heavy-duty nylon-web leash, then calmly sat there waiting for me to come out. Didn't want to leave, just didn't want to be tied up. She never got over that, either... probably brought back bad memories.
